Seems to be the director's preferred method of showing conflict between the couple.. BKD trailer also had flash scenes of Varun grabbing Alia and choking her.

gora's take violence very very seriously...

one incidence I want to share... our branch was making a short 3d film which one of our animators had conceived it was a short love story bt a female elephant n a male crocodile (something on the lines of madagascar)...so in of the scenes the elephant hits the croc with a rod to make him fall in love with her... so our main branch in LA took objection to that hitting with rod... They said its violence and we cannot show this to kids... our team had to change the full story line to make it look non-violent 😆

Hmm.. there are people who object to trailers with violence because of some reasons like 'it promotes violence, it could be emulated or be an inspiration' and so on.

And some people just do not like violence.

And some people do not like violence but can leave a movie alone or look away if they cannot watch it.

I'm one who falls in 3rd category.

That slapping scene was intense, I don't like it but it's a movie..
In terms of direction or cinema also, I like intensity and maybe if he raised his hand in anger but held back or held her or shook her but didn't slap
there are other ways to show angst or dramatic expressions of frustrations -_________-

same... more or less :)

I'm a little confused on this topic though 😆

Most of the times I am in full support of artistic liberty, as is liberty of audience in making a choice of watching.. but sometimes I am confused!

How can anyone hit the person the claim to love is beyond me. And yes it does come under domestic violence coz remember everything starts with an innocent n frustrated slap n takes no time to escalate into full assualt.

Gora problem was after that scene they immediately cut to comedy scene.
Goras can't take mixing of genre.
