She parked the car on the lakeside,got down and slammed the door shut.She rested her head against it,wondering how long this would continue before her head exploded.
It had been 2 years since she met Aditya and came to this city, the city which people call as the city of dreams with a mission in her mind, but after 6 months she got the shock of her life when she had received the divorce papers signed by her husband and as if all this was not enough she had to get married to a person with whom she shared a complicated relationship to save their company now known as 'A-Z Creations' But now she is going to lose him too
Her mind fogged up and tears burned her eyes and her lips trembled as she thought about this. She blinked back a tear, but it escaped and slid down her cheek
This was the fourth time when she accompanied Aditya on a dinner with a prospective bride of his.
He seemed to like the girl and even asked her out on a second date.But this time he did not want her to come along.
She should be happy for him,She thought,but every time she saw them smiling with each other,something inside her broke.
She cursed herself as she thought about the conversation she had with her present husband, after few months of their "Circumstantial marriage"
"You deserve better than this Adi" Zoya said as she threw her purse on the bed as soon as she entered their room with Adi in tow
"Please Zoya,hum is baare me pehle bhi baat kar chuke hai. I don't want any discussion on this topic hereafter"
"Why can't you understand Adi? I...I...can...never love anyone else" she said lowering her eyes
"And we both know that this marriage is a lie, a sham and we can't get along with it our whole lives
"Zoya,Kab tak you will torture yourself for someone else's mistake? Jinhe jaana that wo ja chuke bina apni galtiyon ki sazaa bhugte. Pehle humne decide kiya tha ki jab sab kuch theek ho jaega to hum ek dusre ko divorce de denge but kya tumhe Nahi lagta ki hume bhi haq hai Khush rehne ka?
"Hum jante hai ki aap mohabbat ko ek aur mauka dena chahte hai lekin hum aapko wo nahi de sakte,isliye behtar hoga ki aap koi aur ladki dhoond lijiye Jo aapko wo pyaar de sake Jo aap deserve karte hain"
"Theek hai...agar tum yahi chahti ho to meri bhi ek shart hai"
" Kaisi shart?" She asked surprised at his words
"Mere liye ladki tum dhoondogi Zoya, bolo manzoor hai?"
"Ye..ye kya keh rahe hai aap? Ye humse nahi hoga"
"Arre!!kyu nahi hoga Zoya? Ab Tum mujhe bahut acche se jaanti ho samajhti bhi ho to tum to mere liye best hi choose karogi na. Soch lo, ya to meri shart maan lo ya phir apni Puri life mere Saath guzaarne ke liye ready ho jao...To bolo Han ya na?" He asked raising his eyebrows
"A...aap na bohot bure hai, humesha aisa hi karte hai...mere liye koi option Chhodte hai aap?"she pouted
"Toh...ise Mai tumhari Han samjhu? To kab milwa rahi ho mujhe meri 'TEESRI' wife se?"
"Wo to time aane par apko maaloom chal jayega" with that she stormed out of the room
She smiled ruefully at the memory
What in the world was happening to her?Why was the fact of him drifting apart form her forever bothering her?why her heart ached seeing him with someone else?Why did She fear losing the "haq" she had on him to someone else?Why does she get affected by his closeness, when she had clearly told him that she didn't love him.But was it the truth?You can lie to what's in your head,but you can't lie to what's in your heart.For heart never tells lies,but hidden truths,and her heart knew that it was a lie
She felt depressed and frustrated.She was tired of putting on a brave face in front of everyone when her heart was being crushed into pieces from inside.She hated this feeling.She wanted to forget him but as hard as she tried,she just couldn't.
One of the most difficult tasks in life is removing someone from your heart.But it takes a lot of courage and trust to look past what you've been through and trust someone not to put you through it again.She loved him and there was no doubt in that but did she trust him? She was not ready to get into a relationship which made her weak 5 years ago.
She knew Aditya was different,a man who understands her, a man who stands by her,a man to whom she could bare her soul... something which she could never do with Yash but the fear of betrayal was holding her back
It is said that Pain changes people, it makes them trust less, overthink more and shut people out...which was proving to be right in her case but her mother was right when she said that numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.
And now when she looked up towards the sky,she saw that the night was so dark...She could not see the stars. The world felt as high as the depth less night sky and deeper than she could know. She understood, suddenly and keenly, that she was too small to run away, and she sat on the damp ground against the car,holding her knees to her chest and cried her heart out
Not being able to bear her miserable state anymore he quickly ran towards the place where she was sitting and knelt down in front of her.
"Zoya?"He called out her name but she continued to stare into oblivion
On getting no response from her,his heart started pounding loudly.He had to fix it once and for all.He held her by her shoulders and shook her and said "Look at me Zoya"
She finally got back into her senses and was shocked to see him there.She jerked his hands away and stood up "What are you doing here?"She asked her voice brimming with anger...the anger of being vulnerable
"Do you love me Zoya?"
Her eyes grew wide as soon as he put up his question
She didn't answer, even though she knew that he wanted her to say yes.
I know you love me,so why are you running away from it? Don't do this to yourself.
"Have you gone mad Aditya?You are soon going to get married to someone else .Stop all this nonsense right now."She screamed on top of her lungs
He Just smiled and came closer to her.He held her hands in his and said "I know Zoya that being hurt by someone you love is the worst feeling ever. But stop holding on to what hurts and start making room for what feels good"
"What..what do you mean?"She asked with a choked voice looking straight into his eyes
"Let's make our circumstancial marriage turn out to be a real marriage, in every sense of the word.
"And what about that girl whom you are dating?" She asked confusion written all over her face
Oh ho Zoya...ab hum itne bhi badtameez, behaya and wo kya tha?? Han...kamzarf insaan nahi ki humari itni khoobsoorat biwi ko khud se door jaane de...It was all an act to make you realise that you love me Zoya. When I explained them how much I love you,they agreed to help me out" he said with a sly smile
She could feel anger boiling up inside her.She removed her hands out of his grip and started hitting his chest with her fists"what do you think of yourself?Why did you play with my emotions Adi? Why?"
He didn't react,he knew she needed to get it all out from her heart.She felt weak and drained out,she stopped what she was doing and buried her face in the crook of his neck as he held her.One part of her needed him,needed his arms around her,needed him to hold her and whisper that they could be together.But another part of her wanted to jerk him away,shout on him,fight with him for the stunt he pulled off
He wrapped his hands around her waist and placed a soft kiss on top of her head and coaxed her to speak up what was troubling her
"I'm scared to go through all that again Adi.I have been stabbed in the back by that person whom I needed the most.I'm scared of being lied to again,m...my heart is not strong enough to endure everything again" She said sobbing uncontrollably
"You know what happened in that party don't you?Your friends were swapping wives for just a fun dance...
But I was so insecure that I completely shunned off the idea of sharing you with anyone, for even a dance...
All of your friend's wives said to me that I was behaving like a paranoid wife and I don't give you space...
That's what hurted me, it made me feel that our relationship won't work because trust and love go hand in hand in a relationship. Though most of the people think that love is the most important element that keeps a relationship healthy, but the truth is that trust is as important as love in a relation and after what happened with me I have completely lost the ability to trust someone...you know a broken person is like a crumbled piece of paper...you can smooth it over but it's never going to be the same again and... I...I..don't want you to suffer due to my this inability"

Life has taught me that you can't control someone's loyalty. No matter how good you are to them, doesn't mean that they will treat you the same. No Matter how much they mean to you, doesn't mean that they'll value you the same. I can't change the past Zoya, but all I can say is that I won't do the same mistake which Yash did... Trusting me is your decision and proving you right is my duty...deep down you know me,you know my love is real,you know I make you happy.Please take my hand and let me love you,care for you.Isn't that's all we both ever wanted? She looked into his light brown eyes which reflected immense love for her and placed her hand in his,ready to trust him
He smiled and cupped her cheeks,a cool breeze touched the warmth of her cheeks and her hairs swayed gently.He rubbed her cheeks lightly with his thumb and captured her soft lips in a passionate kiss.They enjoyed this feeling of togetherness and after what it seemed eternity they broke the kiss and she leaned against his chest, comforted by his embrace...finally, they together took a Leap of Faith...
