Why should Sonam retire when she's this successful? There are people who are awaiting her movie releases and directors who want to work with her too. Sonam is still relevant and has yet to sink into oblivion.
She's received accolades from critics numerous times and has received some harsh and unecessary criticism when it comes to her acting performances.
Of course she might be inconsistent but just like her contemporaries.
In my books, she's still better than some actresses of her gen.
She's received a special mention from the NA and a Filmfare Critics for her performance as Neerja ; she's also been nominated numerous times.
Sarabjit who deals with an interesting subject and released approximatively at the same time than Neerja tanked. So saying Sonam was the weak link or that she did a disservice to the film is being too much. She delivered aptly and that's why in addition to the supporting cast, director and authors work, the movie worked.
If her performance had been as weak as some people here deem it to be, the truth of the matter is that the movie would have tanked because Sonam was in all the frames of the movie.
