Here I am with another post! Last time I was pondering about Sid-The Lawyer and now about Sid-The Bihari, just kidding😆

On a serious note I loved how the CVs have portrayed the nuances of Bihari culture and tradition so well. My native place is Varanasi even though I have been a Mumbaikar all my life before moving to US.

Time and again Patna has come up in the discussions especially when Prabhakar wanted to lie under a tree and relax, so relatable for anyone who has visited a village in North. Also unlike other cliched shows the characters don't speak here in bad made up Bhojpuri. The Sinha's speak pure Hindi reflective of a family which has long since moved to Delhi or just a metropolitan.
I myself speak UP Bhojpuri while speaking to elders in village but fam converses in Hindi! I feel immense connection to that aspect 😛

When Sid's mom called Mama in village I tell you that was done so realistically, it sounded like a conversation I have heard back home between my relatives. Hats off CVs! Out of curiosity I checked the production team and most are Singhs, Jhas, etc. that explains why they have totally nailed the portrayal😃

I know the character sketch of Reddy's and stereotyping is somewhat flawed, homework certainly required on that front😆

OMG even my native place is Benaras!
So good to hear it!🤗

Exactly! Same here. With rurals and servants we do speak bhojpuri but I purely converse in Hindi with family. The sweet North Indian Hindi 😳

Even I was deeply impressed by the Mamaji part! Dilip is himself a Jha so who can better ace the Bihaari dialect?😳
Specially Parnaam, dhanyavaad and kiye hain type phrases!😆

I Can't tell how happy I am to read your post! A perfect connection!🤗
I miss Varanasi so much. We've a farmhouse there with all trees and bushes and a well too. 😳
This is another reason why I love the show - cause I'm basically connected to it personally ❤️

Aww so happy to hear that!!!🤗 My village is 1/2 hr from Benaras while most relatives stay in the city. I last visited in 2011, such amazing memories including khet, cows, village temples, language, fresh veggies, khatiya, and all the pampering! But being a Mumbaikar mein Hindi main hamesha locha karti hoon😆

Good to know on Bihari side they have perfected the dialect.
I just relate to the show even though I have no connection.

I go there every year once, during vacations, barring this year!😭
It's a hell lot of hot, I always fall sick courtesy the Loo. But nonetheless I visit it!
I'm from proper Varanasi city. 😆
What's the village's name? Jaunpur?

Fresh veggies! That's it - my sole purpose! Open spaces, greenery & also the warmth in people there, it's so amazing! And paan 😆😛

Even I'm a Mumbaikar. :P
Here everyone's Hindi is too bad. But thankfully, I'm still sorted on the major aspects of the language.😆

Ohh Loo brings back so many memories!! Jaunpur is my Jilla but village is a smaller place. I love my mom's village most!
Have you had Laal peda from Benaras, it was better in the 90s. You can never beat milk sweets and samosas from UP😛
