Asya FF: A Slice of you and A Slice of Me

Hello Readers,
I had written this story quite sometime back but while reliving the episodes of Qubool Hain with my favorite Asad as KSG and Zoya as Surabhi I felt the need to share with you all wonderful readers and writers and able to relive those wonderful moments as I do when I pen down the remaining chapters.

PROLOGUE:
As human beings we are all flawed and in this journey of life these flaws make us find that perfect someone who complement us. When two flawed people come together to hold each other, support each other to overcome the flaws and take the beautiful journey called life together life seems to have put the right slices together. Can Asad and Zoya can come together to overcome the flaws or they will grow further apart.
Zoya S(Siddiqui) Farooqui: She is very intelligent and talented. She is a geek and hacking is her passion. Personally she has a past which makes her averse to men in general and as such things do not move beyond a casual friendship with the opposite sex. From the opposite sex point of view she is sexy, beautiful with brains but with a touch-me-not attitude. She needs to meet the man in her life who will touch her soul . And Yes, she retains both her Abbu and her Ammi's surname(Zeenat Farooqui).
Asad Ahmed Khan : He is a CS (Company Secretary) and for sure a coveted one. He has absolute killer drool worthy looks, dresses impeccably, is a heath freak but not with an OCD. He likes to have things organized and has a methodical way of working.
Note: For those who are not aware of CS, Despite the name, the role is not clerical or secretarial. The company secretary ensures that an organization complies with relevant legislation and regulation, and keeps board members informed of their legal responsibilities. Company Secretaries are the company's named representative on legal documents, and it is their responsibility to ensure that the company and its directors operate within the law. It is also their responsibility to register and communicate with shareholders, to ensure that dividends are paid and to maintain company records, such as lists of directors and shareholders, and annual accounts.
Nikhat Azmi : She is from the conservative Azmi family but on Asad's request they had allowed Nikhat to work. She had been an extremely independent forward-looking girl. She works as an office co-ordinator in the software arm of Siddiqui group of companies.
Dilshad, Najma and Rashid are the same as in the drama. Somewhere down the line we will have Imran Qureshi, Tanveer, Ayaan and the rest as the storyline proceeds.

Here goes the first chapter below:
Chapter 1-- A New Chapter
Zoya looked pensively at the white colored Grecian building which her father Gafoor Siddiqui had commissioned soon after he had settled down in his business about 20 years ago, the place which Zoya had known to call her home since she was born 23 years ago to Gafoor Siddiqui and his first wife Zeenat Farooqui. Her father had passed away from a sudden heart attack and It was not even one week after her father was cremated that her stepmother Razia and her son Junaid had asked her to leave her house. Her house was no more hers as the mother and son had made her father will all property and business to Junaid leaving only a few lakhs and a sinking software arm of Siddiqui group Lenovate (Learn & Innovate as Zoya had lovingly named it when her Abbu had decided to set it up) for her. Some had advised her to fight her stepmom & brother in court while some had asked to sell the business and move back to SFO(San Francisco in the US) where she had a good job and was on the verge of settling down. Zoya being the strong-willed girl had decided to not let go of Lenovate and to work towards making it viable and profitable. Once that was done she would decide the next course of action because Lenovate Pvt Ltd was just not a company but a father's love for her daughter and her passion. She would give it the best shot for the sake of her loving Abbu and the thought of her Abbu again saw tears streaming down her face as she walked to the taxi and loaded the bags instructing the driver to take her to her office and her temporary residence for now.
Asad was just pulling the luggage out of the airport to hail the cab when Venkat Prasad his colleague and good friend rushed in. He was quite surprised to see him there and his sixth sense told him something was not right. He had been away to Singapore with his family (his mother Dilshad and sister Najma) for a family wedding and a vacation too. Prasad looked at three of them before breaking the news that Mr. Siddiqui passed away as soon as they had left for the wedding. They were unable to reach his number and since he was in a family function they did not want to disturb him. To say Asad and his family was shocked would be an understatement, they especially Dilshad broke down on hearing the news. All of them demanded to be taken right away to Siddiqui mansion to meet Zoya who they came to know had come down from States on hearing about her Abbu. They were particularly not interested in meeting Razia and Junaid because Asad and his family were aware of them not treating the senior Siddiqui well. Prasad then told them that Zoya had left the house in the morning and from what he had known the mother and son and usurped all the property and thrown her on the roads. Hearing this Asad shook himself up and decided to step in to help the lady in distress and meet her right away. She asked Dilshad and Najma to go home and he would come back soon and let them know the proceedings.
Zoya stood in her office , a small spacious room well furnished with basic amenities where she could spend the next few days of her life. She still did not know where she needs to start and with Lenovate now separated from its parent organization looked very unstable. Before she came the few employees the company had also started quitting . Nikhat who had supported Zoya during the trying days after her father's death had informed her quietly that there had been about 10 resignations that had come in over the week and at least the same number were soon to follow the week after. Nikhat knocked at the door again to inform that a certain Asad Ahmed Khan wanted to meet her.

Chapter -2 Abbu's Asad
Asad knocked at the door before entering but the room's sole occupant did not seem to have registered that somebody had entered. He looked at the figure standing clad in a simple full sleeved white kurta and faded blue denims looking to oblivion. She was beautiful and once he had seen her during a video chat with her dad, the software did not do justice to her beauty. She had flawless skin, big doe shaped eyes and a perfect curvy figure. The only difference was she looked paler and her eyes were swollen and tired and there were no prizes for guessing that she had spent sleepless nights crying her heart out. Asad felt a tug in his heart and the only thing he wanted to do was pull her into a hug and brush her tears away and say "Everything is going to be fine. I will be there with you. Where did that come from...a voice in his head warned not to venture in such troublesome waters.. Asad decided to listen to the voice and shaking himself out of the stupor called out " Ma'am Farooqui. She did not turn as if Asad had spoken to a wall and as he was thinking to walk out of the cabin when he heard a soothing but broken voice say "You want to leave the company too. Please leave your papers and I will approve them. Asad smiled at her words and slowly said "I have not come here to go Ma'am. You perhaps are not aware your father had given me everything when I had nothing and today when he has left this world and his daughter has stepped in his shoes it's my turn to show that I am trustworthy of the faith he bestowed on me. Zoya still hadn't turned and looked and continued to say "So you are here to pity me, but be rest assured I can manage without that.Asad replied " It's the way you think Ma'am which I will try to change and hope with time you will know me but for now let me do what I can Ma'am please.
Zoya felt the please' stir her soul and threaten to overwhelm her with tears. She finally turned and looked at the man who has been so persistent on his idea to serve her company. She came face to face with the man she had seen two years ago during a video chat with her dad and had got mesmerized.
Two years ago:
Although Zoya had moved miles away from her so called family but she had this soulful connection with her Dad which grew with the distance. Once she landed in MIT after majoring in Computer Science her connect with her Dad grew. Her weekends was when she used to have long Skype calls with her Dad owing to the time difference. She used to always wait for those calls where she would talk hours to him describing in detail everything that has been going around which probably she never used to do before. Probably they are right when the say that distance makes the heart grow fonder. Once such day she was on a call with her Dad but he was in his office and not in his study room at home where he generally took calls. Zoya fussed over him for working over the weekend as well but it was yearly closing so things were hectic and he could not avoid work. After some time she started getting worried that he was alone at work and what if he needs something. That's when he had pulled in a very handsome, well-built guy with a sweet smile infront of the camera. He had smiled a little and greeted her asking her just how was she doing. Zoya had felt an instant connect with this man because his eyes seemed to have been so sincere and he had looked at her so intently that she had felt she would burn under is gaze. Soon he had politely excused himself and got busy with the pending work. Her Abbu that day had spoken at length about Asad and his commitment, honesty, and how he was a fighter in life. She had seen her Abbu's eyes glow as he spoke about Asad. He had said someday if he is not around, its Asad whom she should rely on. Finally, Zoya had got angry because he was talking about Asad rather than talking to Zoya.
Back to present:
Now it clicked for Zoya why was this man so persistent about helping her because he was the Asad Ahmed Khan about whom her Abbu had spoken at length always. How stupid of her to not recognize his name. Zoya finally turned her gaze to see Asad Ahmed Khan, his father's right hand but whose own right hand held a crutch as he limped towards her. Impeccably dressed in an olive green shirt and grey suit and a black tie, he was awfully good looking .His left leg was probably handicapped as he glided his crutch and walked towards Zoya.
