Tara walked towards the paddock and saw Mrityunjay sitting on the ground panting from the labour of his practice. She kept the book on a rock nearby and walked up to him. She stood behind him and placed her hand on his shoulder. His shoulders first tensed but soon relaxed under her touch. He held her hand in his and brought her in front of him. She sat in front of him. There was a small smile on his face.
But Tara could see how exhausted he was. She caressed his face.
"I have something to show you. Saying this, she got up. She swirled her hands and soon she was gone leaving some purple smoke behind her.
Mrityunjay was stunned for a moment. In the next moment, he got his senses back and panicked. A moment ago, she was there in front of him and in the next there was nothing, just purple smoke. He was immediately on his feet. He turned around to go in search of her and relief washed over him when he saw her standing a few feet away from him, smiling. He rushed to her and engulfed her in his embrace.
"I was so afraid. I thought... He stopped mid-sentence and held her more tightly in his arms closing his eyes. Tara parted from him and informed him about the new magic that she had learnt. He nodded and both of them resumed their practice.

By afternoon Tara had mastered in teleporting herself to different places. Once she was satisfied, she thought to teleport others with her and went to Mrityunjay. She explained how she wanted to proceed with her practice and Mrityunjay agreed to it.
She laced the fingers of her one hand with his and swirled her free hand. A purple smoke appeared at their feet. She smiled at the success and thought of the place where she wanted to teleport them. Both were soon teleported to the lake. Tara knew Mrityunjay was exhausted and the water of the lake would help him regain his strength. She also wanted a change of scenery for him.
He smiled seeing the lake. Some past memories of him and Tara near the lake rushed to him. He remembered how the water had helped her when she was attacked by Vampire Nandini. It was the place where he had revealed his identity and told her about his family. It was also the same place where they had vowed themselves to each other and gotten magically married.
He turned towards her with a smirk on his face and asked, "Why are we here?
"You were too tired and scowling since morning. So I thought a change in scenery might help you, she said motioning towards their surroundings.
"Thank you, he said holding her hand in his. He walked her to the bank of the lake. They washed their hands and drank a few scoops of water.
After satisfying their thirst, they sat on the bank. He encircled his arm around Tara to bring her closer to him. She leaned her head on his chest. There was a peaceful silence between them. After a few moments, Tara brought them back to the cottage even though neither of them wanted to return but they knew now was no time for such luxury.

By the evening Tara had learnt some new moves like how to command a gust of wind and create pools of ice. When she felt she could not continue with her moves, she took the book that Guruji had given her earlier that day and started preparing the potions. There were potions such as to increase physical strength, enhance senses and some antidotes. By night all potions were ready. Tara informed Guruji about the same.
Guruji checked all the potions and approved them as perfect to use. Mrityunjay sharpened all his weapons and applied the potion created by Tara which was meant to cause death instantly to whoever it touches. It was a dangerous poison. He also sharpened a sword and a crossbow for Tara and applied the potion to it as well. After dinner, they gathered in Guruji's room to discuss the strategy for the next day.
The map of the forest was spread on the table. Guruji informed them that all of them needed to drink some potions created by Tara before leaving. Tara would teleport them to the location. "We will not directly go to the Vault but we will hide nearby and will wait for Kalavati. Saying this, Guruji pointed at an area near the Vault.
"Can't we go to the Vault before Kalavati and destroy the doorway? Tara asked, still looking at the map.
"It contains many powerful things. Even years of practice cannot destroy it. It has been around for very long. One can only stop the opening of it. You can only stop Kalavati from summoning power from there, he said and took Tara's hand in his.
Tara sighed. He sensed her feeling of being incompetent.
"Child you are strong but new. The power beyond the door can overpower you. I don't want you to wear out yourself, he said and squeezed her hand.
Tara nodded. Seeing her out of her guilt, he picked up a book from the table.
"Tara this is a spell to illuminate the place with the help of light globes. We will require it tomorrow even though it will be full moon because the eclipse at some point will block out the moonlight. The light of these globes will not fade even in the storm. Saying this, he handed Tara the book and pointed out the spell. She nodded.
He turned back towards the map and whispered to himself, "We can hope that God stays on our side tomorrow. They discussed some more regarding the next day and then Guruji told them to take rest.

Tara was in Mrityunjay's room lying on the bed even though she knew she would not be able to sleep there without Mrityunjay. But she needed some time alone to think. She was pondering upon what Guruji said. What will happen if the dark power seeps in the world because they were unable to stop Kalavati? The mere thought made her shudder. She sat up on the bed and opened the book containing stances to perform magic from which she had learnt the teleportation spell. She was turning the pages to see if she could find some spell which she could use against dark magic easily.
She stopped on page twenty-three which had a warning on it. "The bearer must realize that this spell will take most of the energy from their body. Not recommended for a new practitioner. Tara ignored the warning and turned the page. It was a spell of energy circle combat. This spell could be used to fight against extremely strong and dark forces.
She studied the movements and tried to mimic them. She stood on the ground parting her legs so that they were in line with her shoulder. She brought her hands in front of her and clasped them against each other bringing it to her chest. She then lifted her right leg and moved it smoothly on the ground making a circle around herself. When the circle was complete she stretched her hands out and opened her palms such that the wrists of both were touching. She tried it many times but even after many attempts she was not able to perfect the moves. They were clumsy. If the moves along with the spell were done correctly then the bearer would produce strong energy circles which lasted as long as the bearer's energy lasted. She tried one more time but again her movements were clumsy. She sighed. She was exhausted and she knew nothing could help her now. So she went where she needed to go to get her solace.
