Folks,
Despite the anticipated fiasco of my latest plot prediction, I am delighted to see that you are all literally on a roll, and are having a whale of a time, with AlexAna now beckoning temptingly on the horizon.😉
I have thoroughly enjoyed all your posts, especially Roxana's delightful rebuff to Nosy Parker Puru.👏👏
In fact, I was in a really bad mood at 9:30 pm tonight, and when you read my post for the episode, you will see why. But you girls have quite cheered me up with your chatter. Thank you and good night!

Unless the writer or Alexander is bipolar, I don't see how his genuine concern for the royal ladies and their fear of him would suddenly be spun around to be a ploy to find Darius. In episode 121 he clearly said he would kill anyone who tried to harm them in any way. He told them his war with with the emperor of Persia and not with his family. I refuse to believe he was pretending to care about their well-being. If Alexander really wanted to find Darius, he would figure out a way to do it with or without the ladies. He could leave them alive and either jail them or torture them, but he chooses to be kind to them instead. He suspects Barsine is up to no good and could have extracted the truth out of her through nasty means but he does no such thing. Also, he does not consider them to be captives even though they do.
Perhaps Alexander doesn't contradict Hephaestion because he doesn't feel the need to. In the end, he is the ruler and the final decision rests with him. It also occurred to me that maybe deep down he knows Hephaestion may not agree with his philosophy on treating the Persians as his own people. Either he doesn't want to lose focus from discovering Barsine's secret or he doesn't want to spoil the mood of the celebrations by going into details about his motivations. Not to mention, he's been at war and on the rampage for so long, this is the first time he's come in contact with women in a state of peace. Surely the dynamics are different and he doesn't need to have ulterior motives behind every action of his.
Also, there is nothing wrong with killing two birds with a stone (pun not intended). He can sincerely care for and protect the ladies and wait to hear from Darius. If he didn't care about them, he could have them killed as soon as he gets rid of Darius. We all know that he'll never do that - it would not be in line with his standard operating procedure and it would tarnish his reputation. He would never have loyal subjects and it would serve no purpose.
We don't see Sisygambis here because the CVs skipped all that and it's hurting the plot because we are missing a piece of the big picture and what we know of their relationship in real life. If she became a mother figure to him, then it goes without saying that he would take the rest of the royal family under his wing too. For viewers who are unaware of this, Alexander is just a cunning person who lied to the ladies to put them on the back foot and then showed his true colors later. If he could kill a child he can do anything with these grown ups. And we all know what happened to women of most royal families once their lands were conquered.
Ugh! I don't believe it for a second but knowing Indian TV shows, I won't be suprised if they just paint him all black.
@Shyamala Aunty ... I too feel 😡 😡 😡 but then I remind myself that it's just a show that I shouldn't get too worked up about! Look where Rohit's Alexander got us to! 😆
