Hi everyone. I wanted to stay as a silent member cos I'm not very good at expressing my thoughts but I just have things to let out today. I started watching this show pretty late actually, in april to be exact & from the very 1st ep & just like everyone, I fell in love with it. Now that im close to catching up to new eps, I have things to rant about. Bear with me, this is not a hate post. And maybe you guys have ranted during those ep days as well but oh well if this increases forum activity then why not? lol
Like many others noticed, the quality of this show has indeed gone down which is saddening cos this show was like an oasis for me (it still is but earlier eps were on another level). There were many things I wanted to see but sadly that didn't happen.
Sameer's Love
Sameer is that one character with an interesting backstory that i feel the writers haven't explored well enough. They tried, thats for sure but the presentation fell short. After the bet revelation, sameer's redemption period was a treat to watch. But If he had redeemed himself after the bet track then the delhi mawali track has un-redeemed him. I was actually more disappointed about the aftermath of mawali track. I get that MunDit brought some sense in him but what about sameer himself? Despite naina not knowing about his bad habits, he still broke her promise & trust & she deserved to know what he did. He should've brought it up in their conversation. There should be no secrets between them since they are in a relationship cos then whats the point? But instead all was forgotten & we had to move on from it as if it never happened. I dunno but i somehow cant see him in the same light as swag wala/lover boy sameer. And even now, instead of showing his love, he's ignoring her? My problem with this is we see how naina loves him unconditionally & constantly dreams about him & makes plans to see him & whatnot but aag dono taraf se nahi lagi huyi dikhti. I get that he's going through emotional trauma right now but when someone says "she is my happiness, my world" etc, then they should also show his side cos right now I only see one sided love. =/ I blame the writer/director/editor for this lack of emotion. Maybe they will show in future now but I wanted to see more during judaai track.
Topper Naina
This show started with topper naina & I always believed it would be an important aspect of her character in the show. Remember during pooja di wedding, dadi bhua asked naina, what she wants & naina replied nothing but dadi bhua said naina toh udna chahti hai etc. Well I had high hopes for future track after hearing that cos I thought that was some great foreshadowing lol. Also that is exactly what naina deserves & not giving up going to good college to follow her lover, who yes I get means the world to her but still I wish they had better story than what they are gonna show. I was actually looking forward to delhi track cos I thought maybe in future naina will shift to a college in delhi as well.
Like just imagine, there was less of torturous dadi & she eventually accepts sameer after he saves her from some shit that happens. On the other hand it was decided that naina will go to a prestigious college in delhi (or maybe got a sponsorship or something) which happens to be the same where sameer & rohan goes to. Of course someone could be her escort & I would've even accepted rakesh to be that someone. Cos who's the better villain than rakesh lol or even arjun at this point n somy would've gotten his own story.
And the college story begins in delhi with few new cast & when samaina first meet after their judai, they would bump into each other like their first meet but this time they hold each others hands & we'd get to see samaina mature in love etc. And this time even sameer becomes padaku cos he has nanu's business to take care of & make his own career as well so he can prove to rakesh he's not some rich spoilt brat getting money from his family. At the same time naina excels in studies & may even become everyone's crush lol ok this is going too far so I'll stop here. But just imagine the possibility of delhi track. Naina would've patched up sameer n rohan's relationship & that would've made more impact. Not only that mother-in-law vishaka gets to know about naina & I dunno but I always wanted them to interact. They would be the sweetest saas bahu haha. Wishful thinking.
Now if you ask what will happen to ahemdabad cast then? well those characters could've gotten their time to shine with their own storyline in focus...a parallel story. There are so many characters, they can make use of them. If they were aiming at preehan then this was a great opportunity but they scrrapped it. I was sooo hopeful something like this would at least happen but kya mila? sapne? hit n miss? kekta ki dadi? & manhoos? I was disheartened at how delhi track came out. I like the delhi characters minus KeDi but even dadi could be changed from her evil tactics if they wanted.
Naina's successor - Preeti
And now that they are shifting to college, if naina had moved to delhi then preeti could've gotten her time to shine. She could become like naina & start taking her studies srsly & make her parents proud & idk change for good while staying the goofball that she is. That way her dream of marrying in the same sasural as naina would come true lol cos samaina + preehan (preedit shippers probably hate me rn lol), a HAHK story in the making lol.
Friendship
Conversations is what this show lacks rn. There were moments in the earlier eps but its rare these days. I dont like how they are shaping these characters as if their life only revolve around pyaar, esp samaina's pyaar. Like we rarely got to see samundit talk about their own feelings & life problems? The conversation has always centered around sameer, be it his bet or naina or nanu. When mundit fought, it was about sameer again? Dont mundit know each other longer than they know sameer? The lack of relationship depth makes these characters 2 dimensional, as if they are just there to support samaina.
Same with swana but for them at least they had a conversation one time where they talk about their friendship. Conversations go a long way which these characters lack. The sole purpose of their friendship seems to be only there for the convenience of the track or samaina rn. But that doesn't mean I hate them or their friendship, I just wish for more. I love these characters a lot so im just thirsty for more.
In all this, I realized the writers could've done so much more but didn't probably due to pressure or lack of time for creative thinking or tight schedule.
Maybe this is my last post here depending on the replies I'll receive, chappals & tamatars at me lol but thanks for reading if anyone did. Hopefully I contributed to forum activity lol.
I still like this show & its the only indian drama im watching everyday after yrs.
