First Roop Bua is the one who is responsible for Kalyani Mills Fire. She did it because she wanted to avenge her brothers for separating and not accepting her child who was born out of wedlock. Actually it was Mr. Kapoor's plan to burn Kalyani Mill and claim insurance but Shakti refused to take the risk. Tej agreed but later was unable to make it. So Bua took it to herself to lit the fire. But Mr. Kapoor catches her red handed while pouring kerosene and calls Sr. Oberois so she killed him to save herself from the blame. By the time Sr. Oberois reach mills only to find dead Mr. Kapoor. They touch his body in order to inspect it and Roop clicks few photos such a way that it looks like Oberois killed Kapoor. Roop then makes entry and tells Tej and Shakti that she followed them because she saw them leaving house in tension and tells that she trusts them that they didn't kill Kapoor. By this time the fire spreads and Roop asks them to leave and says she will come later so that nobody doubts them. Annika and Gauri's father was also killed by bua for the same reason. She then manipulates the proofs and crime site and makes like Annika's father was behind it and writes a fake suicide note claiming it.
