As someone who comes from a Sikh family. I honestly don't get it why some celebs chose to go for the Sikh ceremony when they're Hindu such as Sonam. Not that I have a problem with it, I just don't get it. She's not the first to do it. Does it have something to do with the whole Punjab background factor? Is either the bride or groom Sikh...? Am I missing something 😆 This is one of those things where I'm curious as to why, not something I'm offended by, more so confused by

For most celebrities these rituals have no meaning actually. They go for what 'looks good'. Thats why many will go for simple but fairy talish Christian or Sikh ceremony instead of a tedious Hindu ceremony which might go on for days.

In north many Hindu Khatris go for Sikh wedding bcz they respect the religion

And it's a short wedding too for some ppl like Varun Badola 😆 his interviews -

"My idea of a dream wedding is that all my guests come and have a great time. Also, it is very important for me to have a quick marriage. I cannot sit for the six hours wedding that takes place according to the Uttaranchal traditions (where he hails from). A 25 minutes wedding and four pheras at the Gurudwara is the best for me. Why take seven pheras when we can get married in four?"

All types of weddings r beautiful but there is something more spiritual in hindu weddings

the havan, the chanting of the vedic hymns , the invoking of the trinity to come and bless the couple
all these look filmy onscreen but they have lot of significance.
vedic mantras are no joke. If recited properly and conducted correctly by the priest they yield good results in the life of the couple.Hindu marriage is more of a puja actually where havan is done ,seeking blessings of almighty to bless the couple, agni is the witness that s why agni sakshi and then the pheras and then kanya daan. The vedic mantras play a powerful role.
There are families who follow it with great sanctity.
Priests ,devotees, poor children, people are feeded while guests are attended and feeded at reception.
amabanis, birlas are rich modern but when it comes to follow these vedic traditions they do it with lot of sancitity.Thst why with hardwork they have blessings of godess lakshmi

Anil's should have done the traditional vedic wedding of kanyadaan , feeding the poor, priests, He would have go the merit of the good deed.
anyways nice celebrations for them.

in case of neha dhupia it was fine, both are sikhs.

Anand Ahuja is a Sindhi? They practice Sikhism and Hinduism right. So they had an Anand Karaj ceremony.

Ranveer Singh Bhavnani is a Singh for the same reason. His paternal grandfather practices Sikhism. Sonam's maternal family also must be following Sikhism, isn't her aunt at whose house the ceremony was held also a Singh?

Not just for the couple but for people who sit in a hindu wedding's havan , it gives u a sense of freshness and each ritual has a deeper meaning than what meets the eye.
Nothing against other traditions but i feel bollywood celebs choosing christian wedding when tney aren't christian comes across as show off more than anything else.
As for sonam, anand's family practices sikhism, and sonam's mom practices both hinduism and sikhism
