hooda was probably red herring ..don't think he put the diary back ..just few epis back he was self talking about wanting the diary .. guess the person who stole it from Arjun's room put it back at some point ..senior hooda might have been in the room for some other reason ...my money is still on anjana ..she probably didn't want Arjun to go around looking for it so she ripped off some key pages and put it back!
