This is not a Neil Bashing post. So please don't think it is. This is only an analysis of the Neil Khanna we are seeing now. He has always been a character with strong convictions. But he has been known to make impulsive choices when he thinks he is doing "The right thing! Getting engaged to Rhea was one of them. Despite the rumours about the Meheta's, Ali's warnings, he didn't listen to any of it. He thought since there had been NO proof, that means it's all speculation and gossip and DVM and her family were not really criminals. But they were. What Avni did was wrong in taking Rhea's place in the mandap, but we all know she in a way saved him from being tied to those criminal Meheta's, he himself being a police officer. DVM would have got Prakash's money and run off with Amol.
This time too, Neil is making impulsive choices, because he thinks he is quote "Right and also, he has faced huge heartbreak and betrayal. It's almost impossible for him to reconcile the woman he loved with the woman who hid his child from him. We need to get how hard this is for Neil. No matter how much we hate what he is doing, that's the truth. Through the Juhi experience he took a positive step and decided to get justice for victims of crime. He felt he could not get justice for Juhi but he could for others. Then Juhi came back and she was not the person he remembered. She used him and his wife/family for her own benefit and Neil felt totally betrayed and duped. But because he had Avni, and he loved her and not Juhi, he didn't concentrate on that and got on with things. In fact, it's thanks to Juhi and her baggage that he still has some of the issues in his life. The reason Avni left was Juhi's kid's Father. So he is still paying for ever having cared about Juhi.
Avni was the one woman he trusted more than his life, loved more than himself. So her hiding their child from him even after coming back, he just can't reconcile too. The fact is, Avni no matter HOW scared she was, and how much she felt Neil would react badly, owed him the truth. Had SHE told him, he would have been extremely angry, but he may not be this single minded & almost irrational. He may still have tried to get joint custody maybe? Or visiting rights. But he probably would not have proposed to Mithali due to Avni's rejection, or decided to get engaged to Mithali to spite Avni coz she hid Mowgli's truth. Most of what is happening now is a result of Avni hiding the truth. Yes he proposed to Mithali after her minor accident LOL, when Avni broke the MS and told him to move on. (Not that he has to, but Shweta Bimbo also encouraged a man still in love with his wife to move on, instead of fight for her. That woman sucks, but I won't go into it now). The state Neil was in, he was taking ALL the bad advice and none of the good ones. ALL he needed was some time to come to term with things, to possibly soften towards Avni. It was happening too. But then Shweta was telling Bebe about Neil needing to move on, so Avni took an extreme step & broke the MS. She didn't want to leave, but she had to, because she thought that her being there was just getting in his way. The family wants him to move on. (But it was only Shweta, not Prakash & Bebe). She's the one that always RUINS everything.
While this version of Neil is unpalatable to most, this is who we have right now. He thinks he is doing the Right thing. As unacceptable as it is to us, he really does think this. The only way he will understand that Avni didn't do this to give him Doka, or to betray him, or coz she didn't trust him, is when he finds out that Avni did all this to protect his Father. HER Father. One thing I must say, all the love and devotion Avni has given Prakash has been well deserved and totally reciprocated. He truly deserved it. At least we can be happy that Avni's sacr8ifice didn't go in vain. The man she did all this for really loves her as a Father too.
Also, is Neil still working as a RJ?I know that as per the divorce papers Neil's job as listed as RJ and Avni's as Orphanage coordinator.
But since Neil was presenting a show for people in love / wanting to fall in love, and discussing Love in general, how is he going to continue with that role?
His whole talk show was based on his firm belief in true love, and that we know is totally shattered. The woman he was talking about on his show, who's example he was giving as his true love is now anything but. In fact that whole chapter is filled with bitterness and betrayal now. Instead of grieving a true love, he is now against that very love who is very much alive.
It's got so bad, he's taking her to court for custody of his child that he just discovered about, and also divorcing her and even got engaged to someone else. So under those circumstances he can't be expected to talk about how love is everything and love saves you etc. Because let's face it, that is the furthest from his reality right now.
