SLB almost did remake of Balika Vadhu with Alia and Ranbir

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be soon teaming up for Ayaan Mukerji's Dragon. But did you know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was the first one to bring this pair together? Yes, Bhansali wanted to remake Balika Vadhu with Alia and Ranbir more than a decade ago. The duo even did a photoshoot for it. The dope comes from the horse's mouth. Ranbir recently gave away the deets in an interview with Hindustan Times.

The photographs never made it to the open, as the project failed to take off. But we so wish to see little Alia striking a pose with a younger Ranbir.Ranbir was only 20 and Alia merely 12 when the photoshoot took place. "Actually not many people know this but Alia and I had done a photoshoot together for Sanjay Leela Bhansali when I was 20 years old and she was about 12 or even younger; I don't know exactly how old she was. Sanjay sir wanted to make his version of Balika Vadhu with us so hamne ek full photo shoot kiya tha," Ranbir told HT.

Ranbir also gushed about Alia in the same interview, prasing both her talent and personality. "She is a fine actor, very unassuming about her success and talent. Plus, she is very evolved, cool and chilled out, so I am looking forward to the film," the Jagga Jasoos actor said.

We hope much like Ranbir's crackling chemistry with his former leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, his reel-partnership with Alia also does wonders on screen.

Meanwhile, Alia is busy shooting her film Razi and Ranbir is all set to nail it in the Sanjay Dutt biopic.
