I was wrong about Zoya.

I judged her too harshly.

I imagined how I'd feel if I'd lost a loved one, found out there was a possibility he/she could have betrayed me BIG TIME (when I'd had full, complete trust on him/her), and without even being able to work through my grief properly, was pushed into heart-breaking situations. People around me shoving the betrayal in my face, mocking my naivety in loving and trusting that close one..quite frankly, I'd have been an utter MESS. And then finding out that loved one left a hot mess behind which I now felt I had to clean up.

I would be bawling for weeks and weeks and weeks.

And then we've got this poor thing here, her SIL is out to get her, Aditya is always in her face about the whole thing because it irks and annoys him how she can STILL believe her husband was innocent.

Yeah, on some level she is way too naive but in a very weird way, I feel like she's also just as strong. I know Zoya's only a character and maybe I'm getting too senti about this but I'm kinda ashamed at how quickly I judged her 'cause guys...I'm a big crier lol. I CRY A LOT! I am super sensitive and though I am told by others that I'm very headstrong the fact of the matter is, I also deal with SO MUCH I go through in life for eg. stress and stuff, by crying.

Crying helps me big time. It's like therapy for me. My daily dose of flushing out my stress and sadness and heartache and whatever I'm experiencing, from every day situations. And I know this mightn't apply to Zoya, but I understand a little more now why she cries a lot.

That aside, she's got a core of strength which isn't quite in-your-face, which is why I overlooked it. She's still suffering from grief, being taunted by so many people, practically estranged from her father at least, for the first time experiencing so many NEW things in life ('cause she'd been so sheltered thus far), but she's still adamant in her plans to complete her dead possibly-cheater husband's dream. Yeah it gets on my nerves, I want to shake her sometimes and tell her 'GIRL! At least GENUINELY open yourself up to the POSSIBILITY that he cheated!" But then...I also admire her courage to seek the truth and stick to her beliefs.

Also I'm kinda starting to invest in AdiYa as a couple too because besides Aditya treating her too harshly IMO, that precap for Monday gives me a good amount of hope to stick around. I always knew it, but it was nice to see that he does care about Zoya's well-being a significant deal.

Anyways, sorry for my long as post lol.

I loved your post...and I agree for someone who so far has been in a fiercely protected environment, it is difficult to orient herself with such a fast paced life in the office with Maahi and Aditya trying to ruin her plans every single time...
I am sure aditya will be play the catalyst in zoya's journey from the timid lady to a confident businesswoman...and I am looking forward to watching her shed her rotlu avatar...😊

EXACTLY! I can't believe I was so daft in judging her. Forgot to do what I try and always do when I watch a show - put myself in a character's shoes. It's the only way I can really try and understand and connect to them on some base level.

@bold - I completely agree with you. He's going to play a major role in her journey to becoming an independent woman. Even if he does do it inadvertently. 😆

P.S. Yes omg I'm glad I came across you here too! I'll PM you in a bit, am just going to make prep dinner.

I think aditya will make zoya resilient...day by day she is getting strong and focused. But I also think zoya is the one to break the facade built by aditya around him ...even though she looks submissive and subtle still she effects aditya more than he knows. In the last episode when zoya was busy contacting ashish and aditya just walks in which zoya doesn' notice...but he is desperate to know what is keeping her So busy ...I mean he can' stay quiet and happy until he gets all her attention Lol...oh and I enjoyed that foot stomping by zoya...way to go girl Aditya is revealing new shades in zoya ...

It was difficult for me too to endure her crying all the time...but it was more to do with my irritation at yash and her crying for him...yash failed to elicit any interest in his story for me...I still love watching pooja and her FBS...they add a certain element to the story... The episodes are getting interesting now...I am sure its only going to get better from here...
Waiting to have a chat with you!!!😳😃

Hey, really well written post. I have to say though that you were not wrong in judging her at the beginning. The makers are to be blamed for the ~in medias res start of the drama that established absolutely nothing about the characters. I have complained about this before but the reason we were unable to relate to Zoya is not because she kept crying (not for me at least). It's because we have seen very little of her life with Yash so we couldn't directly connect to her overwhelming grief. Incessant crying just annoys you after a point because we have no emotional investment in Zoya and Yash' marriage. Additionally, she also is quiet naive and sheltered, very unlike the girl power feminists of today's Indian Television. So most people dismiss her as weak at first glance. It's hard to relate to characters like her. However, as the characters are starting to be established more, the good things about Zoya are becoming obvious. Her emotional clarity for one. She cries her heart out and deals with her emotions in a healthy way. She is a very uncomplicated woman. Another good thing is that she tries to understand people. Aditya has been annoying to her but she instantly realized that he isn't actually mad at her but himself. She is naive but she also can be astute. I like how strong her convictions are. I think her love for husband isn't a negative thing at all. Anyway, her burgeoning independence is proving to be a good arc in my opinion. I said this somewhere already but I like that she always maintains her natural grace in grief, anger or joy.

About Aditya and Zoya, I was worried that the dance sequence between them will be over the top due to their bickering but Zoya's natural grace nullified it so well. Aditya is a dramatic person so it's enjoyable to see Zoya's innate composure against him. I always find them enjoyable together when Aditya isn't being hateful. It will be nice to see a chill Aditya who realizes his mistakes. I'll like it when they actually bond as people who have lost their spouses.

Interesting take! Thank you so much for sharing :)

Haha thanks but I still feel like I judged to soon. Perhaps not harshly...but too soon, I'd say. However I am in complete agreement with you that the makers were at fault here. Personally I don't think the team did a good enough job in translating their writing into scenes. We've gotten quite a few scenes of Yash and Zoya now and am still able to form any sort of emotional connection to their story 😕 Idk if it's because the character of Yash seems boring or just their relationship/dynamic seems superficial (to me)...but yeah, they bore me as a couple. Yash bores me too. Zoya is different around Adi - a good kind of different which I enjoy watching more.

@bold - Love what you said here.

And yup! The dancing scene didn't disappoint lol. They were playing off each other well. She's gonna be the calm to his storm, I can feel it 😃

absolutely.. Adi is transforming Zoya unknowingly and Zoya is slowly and steadily becoming his "habit" and "reason to live" unknowingly.. both will change each other for good which Yash and Pooja failed to do..
