The beautiful Parineeta Borthakur has no issue playing mother to actors (Harshad Chopda and Shehzad Shaikh) very close to her age, in Colors show, Bepannaah.

"I am still playing lead in Assamese flicks. The only reason I said yes to this Colors project was that, A, after Swaragini, I had anyways been getting only mother roles, and B, this character had lots of meat. Had I been just a showpiece, I would not have signed on the dotted line in the first place, says Parineeta.

Any awkwardness while shooting? "Being a professional actor, the fact that the actor in front of me is younger than me or not, does not matter on set. For me, while enacting my character, both Aditya (Harshad) and Arjun (Shehzad) are my sons, period.

Talking about her character, Parineeta says, "Anjana Hooda not only has an estranged relationship with her husband, Harshvardhan Hooda, (Rajesh Khattar), but her elder son, Arjun, also loves his mother-in-law more than he loves her. She is a mix of vulnerability and jealousy. What I like best about the plot is the fusion of romance and emotion in a thriller. Agreed, right now you don't see much, but rest assured that, over time, Anjana will really come into her own.

You look quite young on screen? "I will never grey my hair for TV. Luckily, I was not needed to do the same for this show, for we are portraying rich women who anyway always take good care of themselves, so look younger than their real ages. The creatives were also on the same page, saying they also wanted a good-looking mother.

Here she added, "I would not mind looking old for a film character, but not for TV. I have been doing TV for years, starting with Lavanya, 14 years ago. If I get a decent role, I take it. I prefer finding my creative mojo in films.

Looking ahead, she would be game for bold characters in web series as well, "but it depends on the role. I will not be just an object of desire. Also, I will not age, even for the web.
