whatever happened to Kritika saggai etc

The series began with Kritikas sagaai to Akshay and we saw them in a couple of episodes. Now absolutely no mention of that whatsoever. Even for festive occasions etc they are not inviting Akshay. Has that engagement broken now? did I miss something along the way? Or the guy quit and the track ended?

Before their own damaad, their first thought is to invite their physio's fiance.. How can you expect anything from the Luthras?

Kritika is happily single, until he returns with an even more obsessive streak in his character :/

I feel like in one of the episodes they explained that Akshay was away for three months, dubai or something?
