Dafaq .. Is that a bear or a dinosaur or a bull or an ox .. I can't tell ..😲 .. Is this the new Natalie Portman movie ? .. I am so gonna watch it .. Off to see if a good print is available .. 😆

But how does this scene fit into the topic of discussion ? .. Gruesome sure but did it leave a lump in your throat ? .. Perhaps the full context of the scene will make it clear .. May be you got attached to the lady who died , may be I will too .. Let's see ..

I watched the Bengali version on TV as a kid too (old movie, BW...now available on YT)...featuring Chhabi Biswas... Hindi version was made with Balraj Shahni. (also in BW) ...the one you watched in Malayalam must be the same story... most probably there are other regional versions as well.

Yes, it's a Tagore short story (a very fine read)...The movie overall is not tragic IMO... there are lots of happy/funny/adorable moments with the little girl (Mini) ...followed by some unfortunate turn of events... but ends on sort of a positive note as the Kabuliwala (Rahmat) was finally able to return home (supposedly) to his little girl who was not so little any more...the realization hits hard...the fact that he missed out on her entire childhood ...that she would prob not recognize him either (becoz Mini did not)...was the saddest part.
