Yaar, she was in love long before that...
Infact she was in love right from the time he proposed to her... but she was not letting herself dwell on it. She initially thought that it was his immaturity, but she could not deny the fact that he pulled her strongly towards him. She had to take a cold shower after the proposal, she totally froze and was speechless when he expressed his feelings to her... they did not seem immature from any angle. Her reaction when he was hurt, that was extreme... and the way she accepts Gautams proposal to put down Sahil. Someone her age should know better than that... and that is exactly what she as telling herself the next day.
During Arya kidnapping his phone call was her strength, you should watch herself talk to the sleeping Sahil about leaving him... her lips quiver. Suhasi was excellent in that scene. By now everyone is able to see Vedika was in love. But with the sex trafficing episode she knows how much she has come to depend on Sahil and what he means to her. She knows if he meets her she would not be able to go. She could no longer put him off as she knows he is not after her physically and his love is much much deeper. She knew that even during her engagement during Gautam. Hence the whole Holi scene was more to push him away the only way she could.
After she comes back to Kanpur, she is even more vulnerable and that I think is the reason along with the fact that Sahil's family also thought he had to marry someone his age. She feels him marrying her would make him loose a lot of things. Having a child, sex life in the future, she aging and he remaining young, them not being able to share their likes eg, he likes drums, music and that sounds like cacophony to her... She is trying to be the elder and lead him in the right direction. She went totally wrong in deceiving him and she knows how much she hurt him. But thinks its all for his good. But that will change when she sees him not letting her go even after the marriage.
That is what is happening now... he has to become the pati and she will become the patni. They are just made for each other... Vedika will see that eventually, after this track and after Sahil drives Nidhi away from him. I think by that time even his family will give up... or he will convince them... we need to wait and watch.
As for the sudden change, till now Vedika has been able to keep Sahil at arms length because he always respected her. But with the deception he is taking a little bit of liberty and she is guilty and also reaping the fruits of what she did. The attraction was always there... remember the dance, the pani puri, then the Vday episode even during the engagement. Only thing is that Sahil never crossed the line. But now, he will and when he does she cannot hide.
