the terms like religion, superstitions , customs, laws, codes and conducts are the most confusing at times. first of all no religion wants to harm or mislead people, its the people who explains religious norms and customs in a misleading way. The concept of religion is ancient and in the ages between now and then people manipulated religious concepts and inserted such trash in the name of customs that resulted in many superstitions to be sucked into religions. Aggressiveness prevailed and prevails in all ages and people take the benefits by merging the concepts of religion and state.
Thus reforming of religion is the most important thing needed, if religions can be retained to its pure and core form then such inhuman religious customs which benefits a share of power holders (some so called religious leaders who uses religion for their own purpose) can no longer exist.

The greatest rule of society is to offer the people the freedom at max for their pleasure without affecting any others pleasure.

One thing common among all religions is suppression of women, which makes me believe that everything in these scripts was written by men who wanted to rule women, when Holy books contain statements regarding beating women to control them, I won't consider them as something we should follow. I am not against a particular religion, I dislike each of them equally. I was reading about history of Islam the other day and it came to me that first woman in Islam was such a progressive lady, before marrying the Prophet she was extremely successful merchant in Mecca, she even proposed to him. Prophet respected her the most among his wives and generally among women, now compare the condition of an ideal women in Islam to women who follow it, In UAE, they were fighting for rights, in India, they are fighting against injustice.. Its not to offend anyone but to say that it's not right to let women suffer for sake of men's pleasure.

i don't know what islam tells about women, but about hinduism i know that early hinduism provided nearly equal rights for both men and women; until religion got more corrupted and layers were added in religious scriptures to dominate women during post ancient and medieval ages. Medieval ages are the dark ages for Hinduism, most Hindu scriptures, religious books and documents either edited badly or rewritten in such manner that Hinduism gradually got its core concepts of ancient ages covered by dominating writings, initialization of numerous customs and norms (and most of these norms were created to make women the servants) . And more amazingly, today's Hinduism includes such things those were never mentioned in ancient scriptures.
same things i have noticed in evolution of ancient Greek mythologies where gods and goddesses were equally powerful and then in later ages (roman mythologies) gods became more dominant. Christianity wanted to bring back the honor to the women but faced tremendous opposition from the power holders who actually succeeded in corrupting the concepts of Christianity and using those to dominate women.
thus in all parts of the world in a nearly same time holy books were manipulated in a similar manner to bring back men on dominating position.
