*Vikrant's room at the hospital*
Suresh Rathi was standing by the door frame, it had been two days since vikrant was declared out of danger and transferred to the ward. Doctors had no clue what had happened to him, all they knew was that he was in a coma and wasn't responding to any medication. Suresh sir was looking at Aditi who had thrown herself on autopilot since last two days. She would not leave vikrant's bed side no matter what, At times he had seen her readinga book to vikrant and begging him to wake up and talk to her.
The boss had to do something, he could not afford loosing two of his best agents to this unwarranted threat. He entered the room and walked towards vikrants bed.
"Good morning Aditi! Ab Kya haal Hai humare ACP Saab ka?"
"Good morning sir! Doctor ne kaha Hai k ab vikrant out of danger Hai lekin iske alawa aur koi improvement nahi Hai"
She turned her face towards vikrant to look at him. Suresh sir could see the worry clearly in her eyes. The poor girl was considering herself responsible for vikrants condition.
"Suno Aditi, Mei janta hu tumhe vikrant ki fikr hai, lekin tumhe apna bhi khayal rakhna hoga. Mere paas ek case aya Hai.. issi hospital ka Hai.."
"Lekin sir.." Aditi tries to deny the offer.
"Mei kuchh nahi sunnewala Aditi, tumhe break ki jaroorat Hai, ab Ghar jao aur fresh ho Kar is case par Kam karna shuru kardo. That's an order. Vikrant ki protection ke liye meine bahar ek Constable rakha Hai." Saying this Suresh sir left the room and gave the Constable standing outside some instructions.
Aditi looked at vikrant longingly for a few moments..
(Suresh sir thik keh rahe Hai, mujhe break ki jaroorat Hai aur case issi hospital ka Hai to me vikrant ka dhyan bhi rakh sakti hu.)
Aditi leaves for the night. Next day she comes back and inquires about the new case she has with the hospital staff. She was informed that patients who were in coma for the longest time are mysteriously waking up talking gibberish that no one can understand and the attending nurses and wardboys of these patients have committed suicide.
Aditi immediately thought of the supernatural angle of these occurances, but then she thought of how vikrant would react to these cases and decided to question the last patient who had woken up from coma and check his medical history.
A nurse accompained Aditi to that patient. The patient was a 80 year old man, he did not respond to anything that Aditi asked. He just starred at the wall as if he was looking at something or someone. Aditi tried to see what was there but she could not see anything. As they were leaving, the man caught the nurses hand and wispered,
"Agli baari Teri Hai, agli baari Teri Hai."
The nurse got frightened and ran away from there.
Later that same day, Aditi decided to spend the night again at the hospital. As she was sitting by vikrants bed, holding his hand in hers, she could not stop but wonder if he will be met with the same fate as the older man. She didn't want to loose vikrant. May be it was his nature to make her feel at ease or maybe it was something else, but she liked having him around. She liked how he used to joke around her and stare at her when he thought she wasn't looking.
Aditi smiled at her own thoughts. Suddenly she heard a loud scream. She immediately got up and ran outside. She saw a nurse entering the next room, Aditi followed the nurse. As she reached the next room she saw the same nurse from earlier today hung by the ceiling fan. Aditi immediately knew that the old man was somehow connected to this. She called for backup and ran towards the old man's room.
When Aditi entered the room she saw the man muttering something. She went closer to hear what he was saying. He was incoherent.
"Shaitan chauki.. Kitaab.. wo vapas a Gaya Hai.. use roko.."
Aditi was shocked to hear the words 'kitaab' , he was talking about the book that had vikrants name written on it. So this was somehow all related to that book and vikrant. She had to save him. This wasn't the time to be afraid of any devil.
Aditi quickly left for shaitan chauki, she had to destroy that book in order to save vikrant from whoever it was that had come back. As she reached the police station she could feel the change in environment. Everything was eerily silent. She made a bee line for the evidence room to get that book. But she was stopped in her tracks by a man wearing a black cape with a hood. His eyes were glowing bright yellow.
*At the hospital*
*Vikrants subconscious*
Vikrant felt someone trying to strangle him. He instantly opened his eyes, he found himself in a familiar location of the shaitan chauki. He could hear Aditi warning someone to leave. He followed her voice and found her face to face with vanraj who was holding the book that had been the cause of all of this. Never had he been so scared in life like now at this moment. Vikrant tried to call out to Aditi, but no words came out. He was restless, felt helpless. He did not want to loose Aditi again, he wanted to keep her safe but he just couldn't move.
*In reality*
The doctors rushed to vikrants bed as they heard his heart rate monitor beeping continuously, his vitals were really low and he was constantly muttering, inaudibly.
"Aditi.. Aditi usse dur hato Aditi.. Aditi."
The doctors immediately called Aditi.
"Hello Aditi ma'am! Vikrant sir ki tabiyat bohot kharab ho rahi Hai aur wo apka naam le rahe Hai. Aap jaldi se yahan aa jaiye."
*At shaitan chauki*
Aditi was face to face with vanraj, and he was holding the key to vikrants life. She had to get it back from him and destroy it even if it meant sacrificing her own life. She had to save vikrant. She aimed her gun at vanraj.
"Vanraj ye kitaab mei tumhe nahi le Jane dungi, iskeliye fir mujhe tumse ladna hi kyu na pade."
Vanraj liked the challenge Aditi was posing and progressed towards her, but as if she because of some weird sheath that was around her, he could not control her mind. He was quizzed for a moment, this had happened before, he could not place it when. But if this continued then his way back into this world was blocked forever.
At the same time Aditi's phone rang. She was distracted for a split second. Vanraj took advantage of this and disappeared from the scene. Aditi was devastated that she could neither get the book not stop vanraj. She glanced at her phone. Aditi panicked when the realized the call was from the hospital.
"Hello Aditi ma'am! Vikrant sir ki tabiyat bohot kharab ho rahi Hai aur wo apka naam le rahe Hai. Aap jaldi se yahan aa jaiye."
*At the hospital*
Aditi was sitting at vikrants bed side again, holding his hand in n hers. He was still muttering her name. She had tears in her eyes.
"Vikrant mei aa gayi hu vikrant.. vikrant please apni aankhein kholo vikrant.. dekho Mei yahin hu tumhare pass.."
Vikrant stopped muttering her name, even his heart monitor came back to normal but he wasn't opening his eyes. Aditi was loosing hope now. She thought along with that book and vanraj she lost vikrant too and it was all her fault, she was sobbing uncontrollably now.
"Vikrant please mujhe maaf kardo vikrant. Meine Puri koshish ki vanraj ko rokne ki lekin Mei use nahi rok Pai. Vikrant please tum mujhe aise chhod ke nahi ja sakte vikrant, please apni aankhein kholo."
Aditi put her head down on vikrant's chest and started crying. After a few moments she could feel some movement under her hands. She lifted her head and looked at vikrant's face. He was slowly opening his eyes. Without thinking much Aditi hugged him tightly. She needed it, she was scared that she had almost lost him, but he was here now.
Vikrant situation wasn't any better. All he needed was to see aditi safe and sound in his arms. He wasn't going to loose her again. He returned the hug with the same intensity. She was here now.
No words were needed to show how happy they were to be safe and in each other's arms. Theirs contact conveyed all that needed to be said.
Suresh sir was watching this exchange from the doorway. He smiled at himself, (When will these kids realize it.)
