I think the age should be the same for men and women, whether thats 18 or 21.

Here you can get married at 16 with your parents permission and at 18 without their permission. 😛

My friend got married at 16 and had 2 kids by the time she was 18 😆

This was the case in India also, my grand mother's mother get married at an early age of 10 and her first child (my grandmother) was at the tender age of 13, my grand mother got her first child at the age of 16 and even my mother- in -law got her first child ie.,my elder sister in law at the eage of 16 and this sister in law herself married at the age of 16(she continued her studies and now in a good position).

It is for the betterment of women the marrageable age raised. As in the case of dressess/fashion we are going backward in the name of liberty and mordernity.

In early Indian society there was joint family system and the child mother get all assistance from her mother, mother- in -laws, aunts, cousines, sisters in law, but this modern nuclear family it is the plight of childern (of these kid parents) Suitable age is 21(girl)-25(boy)
