Earlier today, popular celebrity lawyer, Rizwan Siddiqui was released after being held in the police custody for illegally procuring Call Data Records (CDRs) of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife. Later, popular Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut's name was also dragged in the controversy. Talking to ANI, DCP Trimukhe had revealed, "Investigation has revealed that Kangana Ranaut had shared Hrithik Roshan's mobile number with the accused Rizwan Siddiqui in 2016. Reason for that is not known yet, the probe is on. Obviously the accusation didn't go down well with Kangana's sister, Rangoli Chandel. She lashed out at the DCP saying, "When we respond to a notice, we give all details to lawyer. To assume that these details were used to violate law and make statements based on that assumption, and defame an artist is super lame @abtrimukhe. Full investigation should be carried out before making assumptions.
With Rizwan Siddqui releasing on bail today, the sister is trying to figure out as to how her sister's name even cropped up in this entire fiasco. After High Court admonished the police that they had taken Rizwan illegally into custody, the lawyer was released and since then he has been refusing to speak anything related to his case. Talking to the media, Rizwan said that he has no idea as to what is happening to him, but expressed complete faith in the judiciary system. "I have no information about what was happening with me from last five days. I have faith in the judiciary. The High Court order speaks for itself. You can identify from High Court order if proper procedure was followed in my arrest. I won't speak anything about CDR, won't disclose client details, he maintained. While the release has obviously given the actress and others accused a sigh of relief, Rangoli Chandel is trying to figure out the real mastermind behind this shoddy game. Rangoli took to her Twitter account to announce her displeasure by saying, "News came up before the summon, HC declares Rizwan was illegally taken into custody, Rizwan declares whole fiasco is designed to target Kangana, any guesses who is the mind behind these games ? #Neptuneisnomoreroshan. #Noprizesforguessing. Well, with her comments, even we are wondering whom to blame and what are the Ranaut sisters hinting at?
Rangoli soon got support from the lawyer himself, when he tweeted saying, "As a law abiding citizen I have been co-operating with Thane Police to enable them to determine the truth.Instead they sought to illegally arrest me & "snoop into my conversations with Kangana & on the basis of "assumptions give media statement. who is behind this?
Though the CDR scam has calmed down for a while now, it's a matter of time before it sparks up again. Till then let's hope the hashtag, #whoisbehindthis doesn't start trending.
