Padman was not a niche movie.
It was a commercial movie with a taboo topic.
Something didn't clicked at box office, hence it had lukewarm collection.
Does that mean Akki is dead? Nope, he will reinvent himself, like he always did from an action star to comedy star to the recent social-deshbhakti movie star.
And even if he does not and he starts to flop(after all he is 50 now), he has cemented his status one of the most popular star of his era with some memorable movies and roles.

Any congratulations to Raid team and fans of Ajay&Ileana for successful opening and hope movie becomes a hit.

I might go in some time this weekend as currently I am busy.

Let's do an analysis on how both the movies opened and completed their first weekend at the box office

Ajay Devgn's Raid has finally hit the theaters and has opened to a good start as it has completed its 1st weekend. Raid has collected 41.01 crores over its 1st weekend which is similar to the numbers of Akshay Kumar's PadMan which release last month.

Let's do an analysis on how both the movies opened and completed their first weekend at the box office. In the opening day battle, Akshay Kumar's PadMan had an edge as it collected 10.26 crores on its 1st day. Ajay Devgn starrerdid 10.04 crores, thanks to the strong pull by the superstar.

Ajay starrer geared up on its second day bringing in 13.86 crores; whereas PadMan collected almost same just a bit low earning 13.68 crores. Raid jumped high on 3rd day as it earned 17.11 crores, PadMan did 16.11 crores on its 1st Sunday. Calculating the 1st weekend of both days, last week's release stands at 41.01 crores and PadMan had collected 40.05 crores. Till now Ajay Devgn has an advantage and it is to be seen whether his movie sustains over the weekdays.

The Mass Maharaja in circuits which have his mass following e.g. Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Central India, Bihar and ect.

That's Ajay Devgan who striked lucky without no buzz or promotion for RAID and yet this film is doing well.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE. Like i said in previous threads, RAID had no buzz or promotion compared to Canadian's Padman.

Canadian Deshbhakt's movie Padman had universal appeal but RAID crushed it's opening.
