The problem with NK is the story teller. I think they have had too many writers.
Not sure if the channel puts the pressure and they are unable to write like they want or they are clueless as to what this story is about or supposed to achieve. If they are clear on this they can give us tracks that enhances this theme/message and the characters will be on track for this theme too.
Avni and Neil are two beautifully written characters. How they are taken further depends on the story theme. Many times we have been frustrated with these characters because the writers have lost sight of who these characters are. We especially saw this in the Juhi track, to a certain extent in the jail track.
Another amazingly unique character in the show is the stepmom Neelama. She stood up against Najayez. She gave the strength Avni needed to fight the system that was bringing Avni down. Again I feel the writers lost track of what they were doing. This is one character I felt that they should have kept but if they wanted to show Avni weak, they cannot have Neelama. No way this mom would have allowed Avni to be weak and no way could Avni have become Neilanajan since Neelama knows Avni very well. So they had to get rid of Neelama
Now in the present track we have Neilanajan - a character that is not sitting well with me because at the end of the day are they trying to say Najayez is bad? A fearless Avni who said I will take my mother's name, I don't need a dad's name is giving in to the system. She not only gave up her name, she gave up her family, she has lost her identity and has become a fearful person that wants to hide herself from the world. I am lost.
We are all eagerly waiting for Neil to wake her up and bring the fighting spirit back up. I hope the writers can get back on track and make this an awesome come back. Prove that even though she gave in for a short while to the Najayez system, she is back up and running strong and fearless.
I would also like the writers to showcase that you can be happy in life even though you are Najayez. That is one message till today that I have not got from this story of NK. In fact the message that is coming loud and clear is that Najayez people cannot be happy in life.
At the end of the day it is the story that drives and keeps the audience hooked on. I know NK is supposed to be about an illegimate child without a name. Are they trying to potray this as positive or negative - I am lost here. Hope the story teller can figure this and get us and our characters that we love back on track.
P.S. Neil is the only old character that is still in track of who he is - a loving, faithful husband in the present track. I am loving him and his scenes all the more because I can relate to him.
