CHAPTER 4. THE DATE!

"DI! DI!, Arnav strode into Geet's room, grabbed Geet who was standing near the window and hugged her tightly, "She is going on a date with me, Di! I got a date with her tomorrow!

Geet frowned, "With whom? Wait..., her face cleared, "Is it that girl from the mall? What was her name?

Arnav pulled away from his sister and smiled at her, "Khushi! Her name is Khushi!

"Aha! Khushi!, Geet looked at her brother teasingly, "The girl who can tear ASR into a new one and yet the great ASR can do nothing but smile like a doofus!

"Di!, Arnav whined but Geet refused to let it go and continued to tease him, "The one girl who can get away calling you pervert and shameless!

"Di!, Arnav whispered while sheepishly looking down. Geet grinned as she grabbed his chin and looked into his eyes, "The one girl who can make you look so shy!

"Di! Enough is enough! Please!, Arnav whined as he walked away from his sister and plonked himself on her bed. Geet smiled softly and then blinked in confusion as a thought occurred to her, "Wait! I thought that girl hated you! What changed in last few days? And didn't you go to some client's daughter's birthday party today? Where did you find Khushi then? Or was she the birthday girl?

Geet came and sat beside her brother as Arnav explained, "No Di! She was not the birthday girl! She was the birthday girl's friend! And as far as change of opinion is concerned, I just expressed my true feelings to her! Once she realised I was not playing with her, she decided to give me a chance! Infact she is the one who asked me out!

"Aww! Cho Chweet!, Geet grinned as she pinched her brother's cheeks.

"Di!, Arnav whined again as he pushed her hands away making her laugh, "Stop pinching my cheeks! I am not a kid anymore!

Geet chuckled, "Of course you are not! Infact, you are old enough to have your own kid!

Arnav growled, "Di! and Geet burst out laughing.

"Chalo! I better go and start preparing! Tomorrow is my date!, Arnav told and hurried off to his room.

Geet looked at him with amusement and wonder, "For tomorrow's date, he is going to prepare right away? Hey Babaji! My brother has gone mad in love!

Geet stood up and walked to the window. As she stood there, she spoke up, "Our luck is looking up it seems. My brother has fallen in love and he had already taken the steps to destroy my enemy! That's it! Happiness is not that far away from us Raizadas!

A day later, Geet entered Arnav's room only to see Arnav going through his shirts to see what to wear. She shook her head amusedly when she saw him throw each of them one by one aside as he rejected them. Geet couldn't control her laugh and let it out loudly when Arnav grumbled loudly, "I don't have single perfect ensemble for a date!

Hearing the laughter, Arnav turned away from his wardrobe and noticed Geet standing there laughing out loud. He ignored her laughter, went towards her and grabbing her hands, he dragged her towards his wardrobe. He made her sat on the bed and kneeled down in front of her. He pointed towards his wardrobe and growled, "I have a date in 2 hours and I have got nothing to wear!

Geet's eyes widened, "Hey Babaji! When did my brother turn into a girl? Starting to get ready 2 hours before the date?

"Di! Stop teasing and help me out!, Arnav growled.

Geet huffed and ruffled through Arnav's hair making Arnav whine again as he tried to set his hair properly, "Oh my hero! All the time you met her, were you dressed in your usual suit?

Arnav nodded with a sigh as he looked down.

"And when she agreed for a date with you, were you dressed in your usual suit?, Geet asked.

Arnav nodded again.

"Do you know what this means?, Geet asked making Arnav look at her, "That she liked you the way you are! She liked you, your three piece suit and your arrogant attitude! She got up from the seat, pulled out one of his suits still left hanging in the wardrobe and smiled at him, "Here! Wear this! And go there, dressed like ASR and sweep her off your feet, Raizada Style!

Arnav grinned excitedly as his confidence returned at her words. He hugged her tightly and grabbed the suit. She chuckled at his enthusiasm and walked out of the room.

Half an hour later, Geet came back to check on Arnav only to smile as she noticed how handsome her brother looked.

"Haaye! My hero looks so handsome!, Geet sighed teasingly and Arnav rolled his eyes. As he continued to comb his hair, Geet entered the room, "By the way, you have yet to tell me how you met her!

Arnav sighed as he remembered that moment, "Oh Di! What a day it was!

"Where did you meet?, Geet asked curiously as she entered the room.

"The elevator!, Arnav spoke breathily.

"The elevator?, Geet asked, looking shocked.

"Yes! She looked into my eyes and I looked into hers! And I was a goner!, Arnav smiled as he went back to combing his hair.

"Still... Elevator?, Geet asked, not looking impressed.

Arnav shrugged, "Its love Di! Can happen anywhere and anytime!

Geet rolled her eyes and then prompted, "Then what happened?

Arnav shrugged with a sad smile, "Then she left and I didn't know how to find her again!

Geet's eyes widened and she stumbled back as those words triggered her memory.

Words, similar to what her brother said, echoed through her mind.

"You left! You left and I was worried, so worried that I will never meet you again!

She swallowed and looked down, trying to control her emotions and not let Arnav see her reaction.

Arnav was oblivious to her reaction though. He continued to talk as he adjusted his tie and made sure his coat was wrinkle free.

"Did you know how we met the next time?, Arnav asked and without waiting for Geet's reaction he continued to talk, "You remember Di? You owned this cute little Scooty in my childhood days. She has something similar. And my car crashed into her Scooty!

Geet, who had just brought her emotions under control, looked up with wide eyes. Another set of words flashed through her brain.

"I am sorry! I am sorry! Are you hurt? I hope you are ok?

Geet looked down again as her heart thundered against her chest. Hey Babaji! Why this? Why now? Control Geet! You can't let Arnav see how much those words affected you! Control!

"Then what happened?, Geet asked as she tried to distract herself from those memories.

"Then?, Arnav whirled around and chuckled, "I got down the car all ready to scold the person who crashed into my car only to be stupefied to see her. And then I flirted with her! Can you believe it Di? Your Arnav was flirting with her!! He chuckled again as he pulled some perfume to use from the cupboard.

Geet looked away again as she got lost in another moment of time.

"You are very beautiful. Do you know that?

"Excuse me?

"I...I...mmmean, you should try your hand at modelling, you are that beautiful!

"Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!, Geet screamed.

Arnav turned around in shock only to see his sister stand there shaking with her eyes tight shut and her hands on her ears.

"Di! Are you ok?, Arnav ran to his sister and grabbed her hands. Geet opened her eyes and met his and Arnav was shocked to see hurt and anger in them.

"What happened Di? Did I say something wrong?, Arnav asked and was relieved to see the negative emotions vanish from her eyes. She smiled at him shakily, "Yes! You spoke too much! You were so annoying! She grinned at him.

Arnav realised that his sister was trying to distract him and the matter was something else which his sister didn't want him to know. What's new? Arnav thought scornfully. She always hides everything from me. But then he felt remorse for thinking like this. She practically raised you since Dad's death. You have no right to think like this, Arnav!

He decided to play along by huffing playfully, "Di! You always tease me! You were the one who wanted to know everything!

Geet rolled her eyes, "Ok! Ok! Enough of your non stop chatter! I am off to my room for some reading. And you also get going. Its almost time for you to pick up your date. And take her somewhere special. Got it?

Arnav nodded and Geet wished him luck and walked off.

Geet ran into her room and sat on her easy chair, staring at nowhere. She didn't even notice that Arnav had left for his date. She simply sat there, lost in her thoughts. She had forgotten those days. Till now she only remembered the day he betrayed her. But now the days they spent together before he destroyed her life came to fore. Tears welled up in her eyes and she let them fall for the lost love. He was her first love and he made sure he was the last. She closed her eyes and flashes of the moments they spent together came to fore. Suddenly she opened her eyes. No! I cannot remember those days. Or else, I will weaken! Focus on the last day you saw him, the day he betrayed you! He is a killer! Remember Geet! Don't you dare forget it! He is a killer! A Murderer!

"Hi!, Khushi chirped as she smiled at Arnav. He had reached their meeting point few minutes earlier than 7 only to see her already there.

"Hi!, he replied as he opened the door to his car and she sat down beside him.

He leaned back and pulled out a teddy bear from the back seat. Her eyes lit up as she grabbed it and he smiled.

He opened his mouth to say something only to shut up. He didn't know why he felt so shy. May be because he knew she was something special for him. Come on Arnav! Grab your courage and talk to her!

He opened his mouth again, "You look beautiful!

She looked up from her teddy and smiled shyly at him. Her eyes went back to the teddy, admiring it and he started the car. That's when he heard it, "Thank you! And you look handsome too! He grinned widely as he focused on his driving, resisting the urge to shout Yes' at the top of his voice while pumping his fist.

For few minutes, there was awkwardness in the air but then Khushi broke the silence, "You know Arnav! I know your name but I know nothing about you! Her voice, soft and shy, made his heart jump a bit. He snuck a glance at her only to see her looking at him with a soft expression on her face.

Arnav focused on his driving as he answered, "What do you want to know about me? Ask anything you want and I would answer you!

"What do you do?, Khushi asked.

Arnav couldn't resist from answering playfully, "I eat, I sleep, I flirt with you and I find ways to talk to you!

"Arnav!, Khushi sounded annoyed but when Arnav looked at her, there was a smile on her lips. He chuckled and spoke, "I am a businessman! I own a business. What about you?

"I am a chef! Sous chef at Hotel Hyatt Regency!, Khushi chirped.

Arnav raised an eyebrow, "I am impressed! That's a five star Hotel!

Khushi grinned at him triumphantly, "I joined only recently so I am on probation but I just love it there.

"So if I bring my clients there, what will you serve us?, Arnav asked playfully.

"Whatever is there on the menu!, Khushi playfully quipped back and Arnav chuckled.

Soon they reached the restaurant where they were supposed to dine. The Restaurant was quaint and elegant and Khushi remarked on it.

"You like it?, Arnav asked as he followed her in.

"Its perfect! I just didn't realise that right outside our city there is such a beautiful restaurant!, she replied and then turned to look at him, "And I lived in this city for years!

Arnav chuckled and both took a seat near the window. As Khushi looked out, she realised that she was nowhere near high rise buildings and skyscrapers of Dilli. Infact, they were surrounded by greenery all around.

"This is beautiful!, Khushi commented still looking out.

"Yes! It is!, Arnav replied. There was something in his voice that made Khushi look at him. Her eyes widened as she realised that Arnav talking about her. She rolled her eyes, "You don't stop flirting, do you?

Arnav shrugged and replied earnestly, "Only with you!

Khushi realised the seriousness of the statement and blushed a little.

They talked about each other as they ate and they didn't know when the time passed. They talked about their favourite colors, films, vacation spots and even beliefs. Khushi was dismayed to learn that Arnav didn't believe in God due to something that happened to him as a kid. He refused to talk about it as it was something painful to him. Khushi didn't prod him as she surmised that he would tell her when he was ready. Arnav was amazed to learn that Khushi considered Goddess her best friend and would without fail go to meet her every Sunday. Every small quirk of her endeared her to Arnav and Khushi felt herself falling for him as she realised that he was not the shameless flirt she thought he was when they met first. Soon the dinner was over and both sat in their places, still talking and still getting to know each other. Arnav was disappointed when he noticed that their dinner was over and soon he had to take her back. He didn't want to leave but what could he do to prolong their time with each other? Just then he noticed the song being played and he smirked. Yes! That would work.

Khushi looked at him surprised when Arnav asked her for a dance. She smiled widely as she took his hand and they walked to the dance floor.

The moment they reached the dance floor, he spun her around while dropping her hand. The moment she spun, he took a step ahead so that she spun right into his arms. Her eyes sparkled in delight at his surprise manoeuvre as her arms landed around his neck. He grinned at her as his hands sneaked around her waist. They moved to the music as both stared into each other's' eyes.
