Chapter 2
Life has been hectic for Gauri since the day she has shifted to Pune..managing household, helping her mother in stitching clothes and doing the assigned works in the temple was too much for her to handle...
She has started working in a temple..she make garlands for the idol of God..she make prasad, do bhajans and sing whole night in Jagratas..it makes her a little more happy when everyone compliment her for having a sweet voice..she make clothes along with her mother...she has started a small catering business with the help of her friend..she has to do many things at a time..
Sometimes her body cries out in pain..she's also a human with blood and flesh and she needs rest..but how can she just lay down on the bed and start resting when she has to earn money to lead a better life...she has been struggling to get a proper job since the day she left Bareilly...but not having required education and experience she couldn't find a good job for herself...
Moreover, she's still scared if she start going out searching for a job, Kaali Thakur might trace her..she can say without having any kind of doubt that Kaali is still in search of her..but she cannot run anymore..she has already ran away from the place where she spent her childhood..she ran away to save her life..she ran away to save her mother from Kaali Thakur and her chacha chachi..she ran away not being able to live with the accusations villagers threw on her..and now, she is tired of running..all she wants now is a place to call her own...and here, in Pune, away from everything that disturbed her once, she's happy with her mother..they're staying in a house with one bedroom along with a small dinning cum hall room and a bathroom and kitchen..the place is small..but this is what she can afford for now..
Gauri hurriedly came out of the bathroom wiping her hairs with the towel only to find her mother stitching a beautiful maroon crop top..
"Kitna sundar hain yeh..", Gauri sat beside her mother and ran her fingers over the piece of cloth, amused..!!
"Achhi hain naa..?? Pados wali woh Anita Ji ki beti ke liye banayi hain..", her mother said smiling..
"Bohot achhi hain, Maa..jab hum bhi college jayenge naa tab tum humare liye bhi aise hi kapde bana dena..", Gauri said exited..
Her mother only stared her..she always knew Gauri wanted to study..but seeing her still hoping to fulfill her dream someday only gladdened her..her daughter has gone through so much in her life..she was forced to leave her school..she was beaten by her chacha chachi..she was tortured and abused..she was sold to a monster..it was the moment she thought she would loose her daughter..but then a stranger came and married her..she thought her little chiraiyya's life will be changed for good with the marriage..
And it changed..but not the way she wanted..the man who claimed her as his wife left her in the road to deal with her own miseries...but never she gave up...even now she's trying her best to manage everything which made her more proud of her..but she wants her to settle down in her life...she wants her to get married and start a new life with her husband..she wants her to have the life she was deprived of all these years...and she could only pray to her God to give Gauri the happiness she truly deserves..
Gauri always loved to serve the God..she believes that she's her Shankar Ji's favourite child and he would never leave her alone..with the faith in Shankar Ji she started working in the temple..and she she met two other girls there..Trisha, one of them has become a very good friend of her..they're knowing each other for two months only..but she treats Gauri as her own sister...
Trisha lost her parents in a train accident when she was just 13..since then she's staying with her grandmother..she finished her school but couldn't go to the college as her grandmother's health started knocking down..thus she had to start working in the temple..she's working here for three years and knows almost everything about the temple and the people living around it..she was the one who took her to the best gol gappa stall nearby the temple..she was the one who got her tickets for Salman Khan's movie..she was the one who encouraged her everyt time she thought she would not be able to do anything..she was the one who helped her settling down in this unknown city..
Gauri was facing problems to manage the expenses as she left Bareilly with almost nothing..Trisha suggested her to start the catering business..she helped her with the little money she had saved..Gauri was hesitant to take the money..but then Trisha assured that she is lending her the money and she would ask her to return them whenever she needs..
Her catering business wasn't doing much well..she tried her best..but it seems her luck in business wasn't supporting her..she needs money to dwell in this unknown city..she has to pay rent of the house..she has bills to pay..she has to buy her mother's medicines..and whatever she was earning with the small business wasn't enough to cover up everything..even her mother is earning a little by stitching clothes..so she decided to search a job with the help of her Internet chachi..she visited the online job sites and applied for some of the posts she thought she is capable of working on..
"Gauri, tujhe aapni Internet chachi se kuch madat mila..??", Trisha asked putting the flower basket before her..
"Abhi tak toh nehi..lekin humein poora bharosa hain ki Shankar Ji humare liye kuch na kuch zaroor soch ke rakhe hain..aur bohot humein woh mil bhi jayegi..", Gauri said confidently and Trisha smiled..
Her phone beeped with a message that Svetlana Kapoor has called her for an interview..it was as if Shankar Ji assuring her that he's always there for her..Gauri jumped in happiness and hugged Trisha..
"Dekha..?? Humne kaha tha naa..ke Shankar Ji humein humari manzil tak zaroor leke chalenge...", Gauri smiled wide...
