i think its because older kids need to take their studies more seriously. they are getting closer to their career path and they actually are doing really hard serious studies in school, while younger kids are still doing coloring projects and other things. once they get older, they need to take their work more seriously and work toward their career goals

i think it's not only because the older sibling is closer to his/her future career but also because the older sibling is thought of to be the one to set the path for the younger siblings. i think parents assume that if the older sibling sets the right path, the younger siblings will follow.

that's how it is in my family at least.

^yeah i agree with that too..the older siblings are supposed to be the younger one's model..they're supposed to look up to them

this is what i think that older kids are more closer to their future career. 😳 n role models too.

Weell, parents dont USUALLY tell older siblings to study. i mean, like my mom she tells everyone to studyy.. 😆

Kool Post😛...I think this because they care about you, they just dunt just say it to teh elders but the young ones as well😉...cause they want you to have a better futre, a better career,a better life than they had to face so ya😳

the first option you gave us is right....but another reason parents force older kids is because, when the first kid is properly educated, normally the younger siblings, tend to follow.

Just like when the older kid is reading, the younger sibling comes and sits down in the same room and decides to read as well....so u can say "copy cat"
