Me me me!
Totally enjoying the drama... Absolutely fun start to watch for the new year.. Completely in love with it even though only 2 episodes have aired or may be it's my Lee Seung Gi biased heart that makes me love it.. ❤️

Sad thing the offscreen production is a mess, it's really a good drama, hope all the backstage production mess sorts out and it starts airing normally from this week... 😒

*pushing this up* 😆 Finished watching it recently and scrolling through the forum, I was wondering if there was a thread for this show! The show itself might not be a "master piece", per se, especially the second last episode could've been... better. But I enjoyed it regardless, and unlike many didn't even mind that ending much - I think it was good as it was 😊

Totally love Son Oh Gong ❤️ He was the driving force that attached me to this drama so much. Acting, superb, and character a real delight to watch - all the sass, the sarcasm, the mischief, I loved it. Despite having watched the likes of DBZ in my childhood, I never knew the tale of the Monkey King (Journey to the West) and the connection to various other adaptations/inspirations, but I was truly enlightened with this show and a little research 😆

I also loved Ma Wang 😈 Sure, from time to time he'd annoy me a little with his antics against Son Oh Gong (I am biased, sue me), but he was amazing, nonetheless. And their relationship was a treat for me, lol (yes, I totally dig good bromance). Annoying the hell out of , pranking, cursing each other and still, they cannot without the other - a poignant scene coming to mind (spoiler if anyone isn't this far ahead in the show, like the last couple of episodes), when Ma Wang mused whether the monkey statue would disappear once Son Oh Gong died and Secretary Ma commented on how empty it would look without that statue, his immediate reply, "Right? Right! So, for the sake of interior design, let's save the monkey!" 🤣

Sam Jang is such a difficult case... she was okay-ish, at first. Not bad. But the more the show progressed, the more she kinda annoyed me? 🤔 Maybe it's just me. I mean, I understood her and her inner turmoil, of course she'd be wondering whether Son Oh Gong would love her even without the Gamggeung (?) - but it was just too much, honestly. She was the reason why he wore it to begin with, even if she didn't know it'd make him fall in love with her - she knew it'd make him obey her, yet she behaved as if it was his fault that his feelings for her might not be geniune, lol. And always getting angry at him for being his not-human self... Maybe am seeing her through a biased view, who knows 😆

Anyway, I also liked Bu Ja a lot, such a cute zombie! Wish she would have had a better conclusion And PK, despite doing foolish things, was endearing especially in how much he cared for her. In the last episode, when Alice showed him that pic with him, her (possessed by the Prince), Summer Fairy and Bu Ja, his, "I am the only one left." was such a heart-wrenching moment 💔

And Ma Wang's son needs a special mention, lol. I loved their interactions in the last episode, Ma Wang's realisation up to the father-son bonding of sorts, such nice scenes 😳 And the guy's a cutie, lol.

All in all, the show was good! Hilarious, some stellar acting, good characters including supporting cast - the plot was weak at some points, but nonetheless not too bad; it's worth a watch just for the characters and their interactions, imo! Anyone else here who has finished it? :D

I'm almost finished with it and I am dreading the end.The plot however could be better ,there were few lags here and there but the cast oh oh what a brilliant ensemble.

I liked instead of going with the old plain boring way with stiff characters they made the show like sassy mordern tale.It was fun mix of mischievous ,sparky characters tinged with serious issues and irony.

Finally completed watching the rest of the episodes, the end seriously the less said the better. I'll assume that the drama had a nice wrap up at episode 18. Seriously.
But overall it was a nice drama, better in the initial episodes, a little underwhelming in the middle stretch but still nice watch (barring the last 2 episodes).

The characters were funny and totally over the top with their overreactions, puns and ironic dialogues and situations.. 😆
