We have always seen Sameer as someone who understands people in general.

He is very street smart. He knows how to talk, what to say, how to manipulate (in a good way) people around him , whether to please them, make them angry, or whatever the reaction he is expecting.

He knows people and he knows how to go after what he wants.

So, yesterday too he understood Rakesh. He knew Rakesh was genuinely offering him ride (he talks rudely to even his children, so Rakesh being rude is not new), but he also knew when to give in and when not to. While he was at their house, he respected Rakesh's rules, and took taunts. He had a mission then. Now, in a public setting, he respectfully declines the offer.

That is very clever. Arjun is indebted to him, in turn Rakesh is. So, by not taking his help, he is always going to be a step above. It is an advantage Sameer would not want to give it away easily. He would want to be one step ahead all the time. He would need this in future, when his end goal is to marry Naina. Pakka businessman!!!

Loved how he didn't budge from his place and held onto his self-respect.Loved how Sameer and Naina as partners are compatible in this aspect--Self respect.

No matter what or how much they love the other person,they would never trade anything for their self respect.This trait makes them winners and stand out in crowd.

Also I noticed the symbolism that Naina's world has started splitting into two.Her family and Sameer.

As of now she has been asked to sit at the back of the car while Rakesh and Arjun are leading the vehicle of her life but her heart lies with Sameer.In the car journey ,she would not feel much jerk but thats not where her heart lies anymore.Its the tough route she has chosen for herself.To be open,liberated and feel the bumps ahead.

The way she apologises for not being the equal partner to him in speed and jerks of life roads took the cake for me.
