Saumya (still getting used to calling her Saumya Kapoor) entered the scene quite sweetly. She saw the last Oberoi brother, whom she goes to college with, crying on the hospital floor.
Gayathri, had just tried to kill his Shivaay Bhaiyya and he was in pieces. Same Gayathri who is a known collaborator of Roop Oberoi, and from there Svetlana Kapoor. All about Kalyani Mills Fire tragedy. Ashok, husband of Gayathri, being the one who set himself ablaze during the media watched MahaAarti of pilot episodes.
She came to him like a friend. Consoled the poor guy, crying like a baby. He called her an angel. And she and her friends sang his Shivaay Bhaiyya a song, just to spread the cheer.
It worked, she was a friend. But when she met him in college, he pretended not to know her at all. Had the gall of saying being friends with her was unsuitable to his image.
Enter Romi. Femme Fatale. Rudra magnet. Conveniently friend of Saumya too. Bachpan se. Kidnaps Rudra, only for Saumya to come and rescue him like an avenging angel. Seemingly Romi, with all her burly devotees, was afraid of Saumya's "paratha khane wali haath."
Exit Romi.
In between Saumya became a friend to the affable, vain but harmless Rudra. Saw him as the spoilt younger brother, but sweet and loving nonetheless. You can't really blame someone for being spoilt can you, if he can't help it.
She fell in love.
They were chased by Romi, found themselves at a mass wedding venue (conveniently) and got accidentally married. I remember distinctly at the time, Saumya was really disturbed by what was going on, she had tears in her eyes as Rudra put the MS and sindhoor on her. Rudra was as high as a kite and silly too.
They came back confused. Both decided to ignore the marriage. Did she forget her mission then? She tried to bring back her friend Rehan, for marriage, then Rudra started showing JEALOUSY.
Hell of a thing to show a girl who's confused about her mission. Then some intruders came in between (Mahi & Kamini) and she got caught in middle.
Writing lapses here. But after this, Shivaay called out Rudra openly for ignoring his wife and their marriage. Then Rudra snapped at her, and they parted "amicably". Meaning Saumya Kapoor's mission to trap 3rd brother failed, cz she fell in love. Need more context Gul pls. 2nd sister Tia already failed cz she chose love.
Never understood her anger with Shivaay, so I'm ignoring it.. her issue should be with Rudra only. Time he faced up to his own actions.
I don't mind Saumya being grey or bad. In real life no one is really black or white. It makes Saumya interesting, if not she'll just be another crying face in a large crowd.
I hope she whoops Rudra's bum nicely for treating girls like playthings, something his brothers didn't actually correct. I hope Bhavya dumps him after she hears what he did to Saumya too.
Rudra needs some soul searching. To learn hard lessons as a character. If only DBO didn't waste precious time with that ice box Svetlana. Better late than never though.
