I think Anu Malik never got or never will get his due recognition because of all the plagiarism accusations against him.. Even though the recent ones might be his original compositions for which he deserves credit, but lot of the songs back then were straight lifts of foreign songs.. People take his and Pritam's name in the same breath..
AR Rehman in that sense cant be compared to him..
