Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter, Sara Ali Khan's debut film, Kedarnath's fate is in trouble. Director Abhishek Kapoor had a fallout with producers, Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor (KriArj Entertainment) and T-series over the film's budget and creative differences. There are rumours now that the film will be shelved.
A source close to the makers of the film told Filmfare, "Abhishek had committed to finish the film in four months but now it's been sixteen months and it's still not completed. Kedarnath's budget is sixty crores.
The source further added, "Imagine he is making a film with Sushant Singh Rajput and taking sixteen months. Except for Padmavaat, no film has been made in such a long period. Right now the matter is very complicated. Abhishek is behaving weird. He is not dealing anything professionally. Whatever you say to him, he will directly say no. He removed the DOP from the film all of a sudden and informed the producers about it after reaching on the location in Kedarnath. Then he increased the budget and then he is misbehaving. He did same with Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Rekha ji and recently he fought with Sushant Singh Rajput as well.
Adding further, the source recalled an instance from the past. The source mentioned, "Producers were not aware that he behaves so badly with people and he doesn't respect people. He had done it in Shah Rukh Khan's case also. Deciding a film's release date should be the producers call since they are the one's investing huge sums into the project. However, Abhishek interfered in that as well and went on to announce a release date on Twitter without consulting KriArj Entertainment who were against releasing the film on the same date as SRK's Zero. There were also rumours of Abhishek Kapoor not allowing KriArj to sign Sara Ali Khan for another film they were in talks for and pressurized the studio to drop the film. Kedarnath has gone over budget because of Abhishek's unreasonable demands.
With that information coming in, one would wonder what will be the film's fate considering the current circumstances. To this, source told, "Abhishek and KriArj are partners on this project. Abhishek Kapoor's Guy In the Sky Pictures company is the line producer on this film. Now one must do compromise and one has to keep quiet. If one partner wants to own the film then he should give the invested money and take the ownership of the film. Then he has to take NOC also. It's not going to be so easy. Now no one knows what will happen with the film.
Source closed the conversation saying, "Now the matter will go to court.
