she wears the same clothes because she is just living as an unwanted guest in their house. neither does she want him nor does he want her in their lives. So having come from a middle class family she is trying to keep her present self. Probably when they actually fall in love with her he might buy her some great clothes and ask her to wear it. So her wandrobe will change with their love.
