Chapter 2
Heer Maan was feeling exhausted after jogging. She sat on sofa to take some rest. Heer's life turned upside down in last few months. Both of her professional and personal life were now complicated.
Even few months ago, Heer thought everything was running smoothly in her life. She got a new show, she was engaged with her boyfriend of six years, and she was taking mental preparation for marriage.
Now everything had changed so quickly in last few months. Her boyfriend of six years Kartik Triphati one day suddenly told her that there was no love between their relationships. In his opinion, it was mostly friendship and infuriation. Kartik also told her he was falling for someone else and it made him realized that, there was no scope of future romantic relationship between him and Heer.
Heer felt crushed when she heard that from Kartik. Despite being a part of show biz, Heer always had a desire to have a long lasting romantic relationship. Heer could not believe that she would be so much unfortunate in the matter of love.
However, in last few months she thought thoroughly about her and Kartik past romantic relationship. Yes, Kartik was right, their relationship truly lacked spark that was observed in a normal romantic relationship. They had some initial attraction towards each other but it soon evaporated.
In reality she and Kartik was just friend +. Nevertheless, it did not mean it hurt Heer less whenever Heer thought about her broken relationship with Kartik.
There might be never any love between their relationships, but Heer invested a lot emotionally in that relationship, she trusted him, she gave her everything to make relationship work, but Kartik never gave any serious effort to advance their relationship. In her opinion Kartik should called off their relationship earlier and he should never wasted her six valuable years.
Heer was also facing problem professionally. She established herself as a leading actor in TV industry. Nevertheless, for last couple of years she was getting similar kinds of negative roles.
Heer started her journey as a female lead in TV series Anokha rishta. The show was very much successful and trp hit though eventually the show went to off air due to poor decision of cvs, channel -production house conflict, and time slot change.
Nevertheless, after the end of her first show she was satisfied as she was able to establish herself into the TV industry. After that, she thought she should try different things as an actor and therefore, she accepted several negative roles in last few years along with couple of positive one. In Heer's opinion, an actor had more scope to experiment with her character when she could play a negative role compare to positive role.
Heer was successful in her attempt. Both audience and critics appreciated her acting in negative characters.
She also got a new show few months back but, cvs intentionally mislead her and treated her character poorly in the show. Heer was feeling disgusted when she was treated so poorly by the cvs of the show. Heer realized that, she should not have trusted those cv that easily when she knew they had poor track record.
Heer realized that, TV shows maker were offering her only negative roles. Heer loved playing negative roles but at the same time, she did not want to be known as one-dimensional actor. She desperately needed a positive role to play to advance her career. After the recent break up, she would not able to play negative roles anymore, as she needed some positivity in her life for some time. Heer had a sensitive heart. If something happened in her personal life then it definitely affect her professional life.
Heer knew she was passing a tough phase in her life. Generally, in those difficult time friends were needed for emotional support. Nevertheless, Heer realized that, in show biz you did not find true friend that easily.
Whenever she thought about friends, her mind went back to Prem Juneja. Prem Juneja was her first true friend in TV industry. Despite being three years older and having more experience in TV industry than her, Prem showed her proper respect as a co-star. Heer learned a lot from Prem both professionally and personally.
Prem was an excellent actor, despite being natural in acting, Prem never took things for granted, she saw how much he dedicated to his scene, and how he was trying to fine tuning his every scene.
Nevertheless, despite being serious in his work, he was also very helpful towards his co actors. Heer was always grateful for having Prem as her opposite lead in her first TV show.
Heer acting was little raw at the beginning of the TV show. However, Prem was very patient with her. In those initial months, he never showed any signs of irritation due to her slight raw acting.
Prem was a mentor to her, he readjust himself to make a fine-tuning of their on screen chemistry. Prem soon become a person on whom she could trust. She knew that, in Prem she had a real well-wisher of her. She once foolishly told one of her other co-star that, she sometimes thought Prem as elder brother figure. Nevertheless, Heer soon realized she was wrong in her assessment. Prem was never like a brother to her contrary of that, Heer sometimes thought there was even potential for something other than friendship. Nevertheless, somehow things never moved in that direction.
Prem always supported her in the show; she went to various award shows with him and performed in many of them. She always felt comfortable with him.
He soon became her best friend; they had so many off screen funny moments with each other. Their off screen chemistry was also rocking. Their jodi got a huge fan base which was still loyal to them till today.
People loved their on screen jodi, their jodi remained very much popular even after the show went off air. She learned that people are still making siggi, vm and writing ff on them.
The tv show "Anokha rishta"will always have a special place in her heart as there she met with Prem Jumeja. She felt truly alive when she was with her. Prem was his best friend who always supported her, sometimes she did not even knew about it.
It was only after the ending of the show, she came to know the truth. She came to know that, it was Prem who prevented the killing / replacement of her characters in "Anokha rishta ".
In her initial months of acting, she was finding difficult to match with busy schedule of Indian TV drama and because of that, cvs were thinking about killing or replacing her character. Nevertheless, Prem requested the head of production house personally to not do that and save her character. Heer knew if Prem did not prevent the replacement or killing of her character then she would have to struggle way more for establishing herself into TV industry.
The maker of "Anokha rishta " were the number one TV series production house that time and if she got herself kicked out from that show for failing to maintain schedule than her career could face serious blow.
A person who forced out of her first TV show due to failure in maintaining schedule would find difficult to get a second tv series. Therefore, Heer felt a gratitude to Prem until today. Prem proved that, he was her true friend.
However, when Prem's character was killed for two months in the show, she did not try to anything to overturn it. To be fair she was new to TV industry and did not have any influence that time and she heard the rumor that, Prem got offer for another TV show from the same production house.
Still today, she somewhat felt guilty for failing to say anything about that.
Still today, she did not able to say properly thank you to Prem for saving her career in 2008. One of the main reason behind that was she lost touch with Prem, she did not even saw him for last three years.
She still felt a loss in her life. She did not know when they both became so distanced from each other. However, she could guess that it might have started after the arrival of Kartik in her life. She did not know why Prem slowly removed himself from her life. Nevertheless, she also did not put serious effort to protect that valuable friendship.
She got herself very busy with her new TV show and new boyfriend from 2011 until few months ago. Heer was feeling alone now; she was curing herself for wasting six years of her life. She knew Prem did not like Kartik as a person in their first meeting and she should have been more cautious in trusting people.
Her thought process interrupted when she got a call from the creative head of a leading TV production house.
" Mehata ji meine appse paheli kahe chuki hu ki mein negative role karne mein interested nahi hu. " Heer told him.
"Ha, thick hein, agar character grey ho to mein soach sakti hu. Thick hein mein aa rahi hu aapki office mein 30 minutes mein. Heer added.
Heer felt suddenly happy and she was getting a feeling that something good would happen today.
She was right in her assumption but did not know that today's event could also bring complications in her life.
