CHAPTER 25

Maan was sitting in one side of glass and Rahul the other side. After pleasantries were over, Maan asked, "Mujhe yahaan kyun bulaya hai Rahul?" (Why have you called me here, Rahul?)
"Maan, mai Geet ko "thanks" kehna chahta thaa." (Maan, I wanted to say "thanks" to Geet.)
"Mai samjha nahi?" (What do you mean?)
"Agar aaj mai zindah hoon toh sirf Geet ki wajeh se." (If I'm alive today its only because of Geet.)
"Mai phir bhi nahi samjha." (I still don't comprehend what you are trying to say!)
"Maan yeh baat tab ki hai ki jab mujhe naa chahte hue bhi Dev Naintara aur Sasha ka ghinona kaam karna padha kyunki ek mera kamai ka zariya thaa aur dusara mera pyaar. Mai Sasha ko Dev ke paas le gaya kyunki woh KC mein gussna chahta thaa. Jab mai Sasha ko le kar Dev ke thikaane (den) par pauhcha toh pehli baar mujhe unn dono ka asli ghinona chehra nazar aaya." (Maan, this incident of that time, when I had to help Dev, Naintara and Sasha against my conscience to carry out their devious plan. As one was my source of my income and other my love! I had got Sasha to Dev's den as Dev and Naintara wanted an entry into KC. When I reached at Dev's den, I first time saw the true hideous faces of the husband-wife duo!)
"Tum saaf saaf bolo Rahul." (Rahul, kindly talk clearly and not in circles!)
"Jab mai Sasha ko Dev aur Naintara ke paas le gaya maine sunna ki Sasha ne kaha, (When I was with Sasha in front of Dev and Naintara, I heard Sasha saying,) "KILL GAYATRI AND HER CHILDREN. Also, I want Maan Singh Khurana in my custody."
"Once Gayatri Singh Ranawat hands over Vijaygarh's Kingdom to me, I was anyway planning to kill her. As far as Maan Singh Khurana is concerned, once I settle my personal score with him he is all yours. IS IT A DEAL?" Dev said with his hand outstretched.
"YES!" Sasha put her hand in Dev's hand and both shook on it.
"Abhi tak mujhe lag raha thaa ki Dev sirf Sasha ko apna kaam karne ke liye "ghass daal" raha thaa ki woh Geet aur bacchon ko maar dega. Magar jab mujhe laga ki yeh plan shayad haqeeqat mein tabdeel ho jaaye toh mai darr gaya. Maine Geet ka mobile number patta karke usse phone kiya. Kyunki mai apne aur gunhaon ke saath-saath ek "khooni" nahi banna chahta thaa aur woh bhi bacchon kaa." (Until then I had thought that Dev was just using the killing of Geet and children as a "bait" to lure Sasha into his vicious plan. But when I started feeling its not an idle threat but may become a reality, I got scared. I got hold of Geet's number and called her. Because along with my other sins, I didn't want to be called a "murderer and that too of small children!)
"Rahul tum mujhe bhi phone kar sakte the." (Rahul you could have called me as well!)
"Haan kar sakta thaa, magar tum humesha se sabooton par bharosa karte the aur mere paas apne shaq ka koi saboot nahi thaa. Aur abb toh mai tumhara dushman thaa toh tum meri baat par kaise vishwaas karte?" (Yes I could have called you. But you only believe in proofs and I had no proof for my suspicion. Also now you considered me your enemy, so how would you have trusted me?) Rahul continued, "Geet ne plan bannaya ki woh kissi tehra tumhare kamre mein tumhari Maa aur bacchon ke saath beithegi kyunki usmein back door thaa. Phir woh hi hua jo humne plan kiya thaa ki Geet, Dev, Naintara aur Sasha mein phoot dal kar ladhai kara degi. Humne kabhi sapne mein bhi nahi socha thaa ki Naintara apne saath pistol carry kar rahi hogi. Aage kya hua tum sab jaante ho. Mai Geet se ussi din 'thankyou' kehna chahta thaa magar naa toh mai aur naa hi woh hosh mein thee. Kaash Geet jaisi bahadur, pativarta aur compassionate wife sabko mile. I envy you Maan." (Geet made a plan that somehow or the other, she will make everyone i.e. your Mom, kids and she herself sit in your cabin as there is a rear entrance to it. Then she did as we had planned that she will create misunderstanding between Dev, Naintara aur Sasha. We didn't think even in our wildest dreams that Naintara will be carrying pistol in her handbag. Next what happened you know. I would have thanked Geet that day itself but neither she nor I was conscious. I wish everyone got a brave, loyal and compassionate wife as Geet. I envy you Maan.)
"Rahul, answer my one question, "Geet and I were locked in Geet's bedroom suite, then how come she woke up in Naintara's custody? "
"Geet was thirsty and came out in search of drink of water when Naintara put a blanket on Geet's face and kidnapped her with help of hotel's maids, whom she had bribed!"
"Mulaqat ka samay khatam ho gaya hai." (Visiting time is over!) Constable came and said and then guided Rahul back to his prison cell. Maan was in a state of shock and trance after talking to Meera and Rahul.
Maan who was an atheist (non believer in God!) first time removed his shoes went to the "pooja ghar" in Khurana Mansion
bent on his knees with folded hands and bent neck in front of the Almighty's idol. "Aapka laakhon dhaniyavad ki aapne mujhe MERI GEET di hai." (Thanks a lot for giving me, MY GEET!) Savitri Devi who had come to pray was flabbergasted seeing Maan in the temple. Controlling her emotions, Savitri Devi, along with Meera and Annie made Maan light a "diya" (lamp) and do "aarti."
Location: Presidential Suite, City Hospital
Ten days later Geet was discharged with lot of do's and don'ts! Maan was behaving very strangely with her. He was talking with her but very formally and to the point! Finally after discharge formalities were done and before Vicky came to take them home, Geet's patience broke. She held Maan's hand as he was passing by and said softly, "Suniye! Agar hum se koi galati hui hai yaa humne aap ka anjaane mei dil dukhaya hai toh please hummein maaf kar dijiye! Please!" (Maan, if I have made a mistake or unknowingly said something which has hurt you, please forgive me!)
"Haan dukhaya hai tumne mera dil. Kya zarurat thee mujhe bacchane ki? Zyaada se zyaada mujhe chot hi toh lag jaati. Dev, Naintara aur Sasha ki personal life mein kyun interfere kiya? Agar interfere nahi karti toh kamse kam tumhari tabiyat theek rehti aur humara baby bhi safe rehta. " (Yes you have hurt me. Why did you have to save me? Maximum what could have happened? I would have got hurt! Why did you interfere in Dev, Naintara and Sasha's personal life? If you wouldn't have interfered, you would have been well and so would have our baby!)
"Mai jaanti hoon ki mere bartaav se aapko aur parivaarwalon ko lagta hai ki mai iss bacche se bahut pyaar karti hoon. Haan karti hoon par aap se zyada nahi! JEEVAN MEI JAB KABHI BHI AAP PE KOI SANKATH AAYEGA, TOH GEET KO APNE SAMAKSH KADHA PAAYEGA! Jahaan tak Dev, Naintara aur Sasha ki personal life ki baat thee mujhe usse koi faraq nahi padhta ki woh saath rahen yaa alag ho jaayen. Kintu mujhe yeh faraq zarur padhta hai ki Naintara aur Dev ne humare bacche ko maara thaa. MAI USS DEV AUR NAINTARA KO APNE BACCHE KE KHOON KE LIYE KABHI MAAF NAHI KAR SAKTI THEE! KABHI NAHI !" (I know by my behaviour you and all family members think I love my unborn baby a lot. Yes I do but not more than you! If ever in your life there is a crisis, life will find, Geet standing in front of the crisis effecting you! As far as Dev, Naintara aur Sasha's personal life is concerned it never effected me whether they are together or not. But it does effect me what they did to our unborn child! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE DEV AND NAINTARA FOR MURDER OF MY UNBORN CHILD! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE THEM!) Geet started getting tense and hyperventilating. Maan at once calmed down and tried to relax Geet before any doctor or medical personnel would see Geet and further postpone her discharge!
On reaching Khurana Mansion, Garima asked Geet to cover her head by her saree palla.
Garima did Geet's "grah-pravesh" once again with triplets. Garima did Maan, Geet and triplets' aarti. Garima also did Maan's tikka and filled Geet's maang and put bindi on her forehead., Garima also did tikka of Ayush & Garv and put bindi on Mini's forehead. Meera along with Annie put rice kalaash on the doorway and thaal of alta. Geet kicked rice kalaash immersed her feet in alta putting her right foot inside the door frame.
Thus the "Badi Bahu of Khurana Khandaan with her husband and children entered her home, Khurana Mansion once again !
Geet was being looked after by everyone at home. Vicky use to tell her jokes so her mood was happy! Meera was a true sister to Geet as long as they were in Delhi. Garima and Savitri Devi saw to Geet's food and nutrition. Maan saw to her medicines and overall well-being. Maan had forbidden Geet from closing the bathroom door when she was in shower. Maan was always in their room when Geet was in shower. When Maan was not at home, he made sure that Meera (as long as she was in Delhi), Annie, triplets or the maid would sit in the room while Geet was showering!
It was a month since Geet had arrived home from hospital when one weekend Yuvraj Harvardhan arrived in Khurana Mansion. Geet was overjoyed to have a blood relation (distant blood relation undoubtedly but blood relation nevertheless!) close to her in her this stressful time. She was really longing for her maternal home "maika" and its love. Ram, Priya and Avi were unable to come as there was a high probability that Meera was also in the family way after a long time. It was just a week back that Vicky and Meera had left for US to represent Khuranas in a joint venture between Khuranas and Kapoors. Seeing Yuvraj Harvardhan, Savitri Devi and Garima got into action of serving him best cuisines and best comforts. Yuvraj Harvardhan, had come carrying gifts, sweets as well as Geet's favourite snacks as well food items which are traditionally given to a pregnant woman. Kingdom of Krishandev Nagar had sent lot of small things for their Princess after her marriage for her and her soon to be born baby (Citizen of Krishandev Nagar only considered the marriage in their presence, Princess Rajeshwari's true marriage). Although Yuvraj Harvardhan, was not willing to stay in Khurana Mansion as given strict instructions by his mother, Maharani Sulochana. However Savitri Devi was also a shrewd business woman and coaxed Yuvraj Harvardhan to stay in Khurana Outhouse as she said it was not Khurana's home but a guest house or in Royal language "atithi griha". One week Yuvraj was there, Geet was very happy and contended. Along with Geet there was also one more person very happy with Yuvraj Harvardhan's stay and that was Pari or Parineeta, Geet's PA in Ranawat Industries. Geet was suspicious of something brewing between them. Hence, one evening after triplets were asleep, Geet told about her suspicion to Maan, "Suniye, hummei lagta hai ki Bhai-sa aur Pari ek dusare ko bahut pasand karte hain kintu kehne se sharmate hain." (Listen, I think Bhai-sa and Pari like one another but are hesitant to express their feelings!)
"Geet, why are you interfering? They are both adults and can handle their love life themselves."
"Aap mein toh bilkul bhi romance nahi baccha hai." (You have no romance left in you.) Geet said annoyed with a pout.
"ROMANCE?? Mai abhi dekhata hoon ki kitna romance hai." (ROMANCE?? I'll show you how much romance I have!) Maan gathered Geet in his arms and started passionately kissing her eyes,
eyebrows,
forehead, nose and
lips. Then Maan remembered something and stopped and went to the washroom with slamming the door shut leaving a disappointed and aroused Geet.
