 Sanjay Dutt's sister Namrata hasn't spoken to Sanjay Dutt or his new wife Maanayata after their big fat wedding Sunil Dutt's eldest daughter Namrata, has been a mother figure to younger brother Sanjay Dutt, (he calls her 'little mother'). Even though sisters Namrata and Priya live in the same building, the actor send them an invite for his wedding on an SMS a few hours before the wedding. The preparations had been on for long and his friends abroad had recieved personal calls two weeks in advance. The sisters objected to the impersonal invitation and skipped the wedding entirely. In an informal chat Namrata Dutt breaks her silence on Sanjay, Trishala and Maanayata. Read on... Apparently, Trishala is very upset with the marriage news. Have you spoken to her? Yes. I have spoken to Trishala. I guess she must be upset but her grandparents and aunt (Ena) are wonderful people. They love Trishala and are taking care of her. They have taken it in their stride. They have said Sanju must be lonely and if she's (Maanayata) taking care of him that's most important. However, I heard that Trishala came to know about the marriage through TV. Being his daughter, I don't understand why Sanju or Maanayata did not pick up the phone once to inform her. That was very bad. Were you shocked when you heard the news of their marriage? No. I was not shocked. It (the wedding) has happened earlier, right? I had heard through friends that they got married two years ago at a ceremony at Sanju's home. We hadn't known about his marriage to Rhea either. We heard about Sanju's marriage to her again last week in Goa, through a friend there. Apparently, Sanjay did invite you and Priya to his wedding on February 11? Yes. I got his text on February 10 at 1 am that said he would feel nice if we came but he would understand if we didn't. I had woken up from my sleep and at that hour, I couldn't understand his message. I have no expectations from him. I have never interfered in his life or opposed any woman he has loved; but I did expect something better than a text just hours before the wedding especially when all their friends had been invited two weeks ago. There were stories about Priya and you not accepting Maanayata. I am not Sanju's mother. Maanayata and he have been living together for the past year under the same roof. If we have accepted them living under the same roof, why should we have any problems ever? I spent this New Year's Eve at Sanju's home, celebrating it with him, Maanayata and some friends. How does it mean then that we haven't accepted her? These are false stories. Have you spoken to Maanayata and Sanju after the wedding? No I haven't. Why? Are you hurt? No. I have just kept to myself. I am not hurt but want to know why did he have to do it this way? You were missing at Sanju-Maana's Seijo bash but your husband Kumar Gaurav was present. Yes. That's because Bunty (Kumar's pet name) and Sanju have a long association and their own equations. They have been close friends ever since they started out in their career. Whether Bunty was invited for the party or not wasn't important. He told me he wanted to give them his best wishes and I would never stop him. Have you heard about Maanayata's pregnancy? Yes, from the TV channels but I could never question him about that or anything about his personal life. I have my own life, children and husband to look after and care for. We love Sanju, have always been with him in his time of need, even if I might not understand what he does. He knows his entire family is, and will always be there for him. I guess he chose to act the way he did, for reasons of his own but it's okay. He has gone through enough pain. Do you feel the rift between Trishala and Sanjay has widened after his relationship to Maanayata? I don't know about that. Maybe she hasn't told us about it as we are so supportive of her maybe she tells her aunt Ena. Richa's family is great. They love and look after Trishala. We are also very close to Trishala each one of us. She is a warm and loving person and is always welcome in our home. |
