Days passed normally. They both spend most of the day working in the hospital. And in night every one of them sleep alone in separate rooms

After few days

Madhu was in hospital when she got a phone call from her husband

"I'm going home now. Will you come with me or you still have work?" RK

"I still have work. But why are you going early?" Madhu

"I don't feel ok. I will go home and rest" RK

"What is wrong?" Madhu concerned

"Nothing to worry about. Just feel exhausted. And need to rest nothing serious" RK

"Can you wait just 15 minutes I finish what I'm doing and come to your office" Madhu

"No I need to go now. You continue your work and come with the driver. But don't be late ok" RK

"Ok. Take care and drive safely" Madhu

"You too take care" RK

After three hours when Madhu back home, she went to check on RK in his room. She heard wails from RK's room. She knocked the door but she didn't get any reply so she opened the door. She saw him lying on his bed. He was squirming from pain. There was a pile of vomit covered his clothes and the bedsheet. She ran to him

"RK. What happened to you? Are you ok?" Madhu

"Stomachache" RK couldn't talk much

She touched his forehead and found him has high fever. She brought thermometer and put it in his mouth. After few minutes, she took it and read its reading shows 40C.

"RK you have high fever. Come to clean you up and give you cold shower to reduce the temperature" Madhu

"I'm Dizzy" RK

"Come lean on me. I will help you. Come" Madhu

She helped him to get up and took him to the bathroom. She put him in the bathtub and went to bring injection for vomiting. And another one for his high temperature. She back to him and started to take off his dirty clothes. When she tried to remove his pants. He held her hands to prevent her.

"It is ok RK. I'm a doctor. I saw naked bodies before" Madhu

He let her help him to remove his clothes and take a bath. When she started to guide the shower's head on him, he started to shiver from cold.

"Please no Madhu it is so cold" RK

"Bear with me RK. For your fever please" Madhu

"Stop it Madhu please" RK pleading her to stop the water flow

"Just few minutes RK" Madhu with tears run from her eyes. It was the first time for her to see him like this. So weak so vulnerable. And it was hard for her to see him like this.

After few minutes when she felt his temperature almost normal. She turned off the shower and went quickly to bring him clean clothes from his cupboard. She dried his body with towel. She helped him to wear his clothes. She helped him to go to his room. Put him on a chair until she cleaned the bed and the floor from his vomit. Then she helped him to sleep on his bed and covered him with heavy blanket. He stopped vomiting because of the injection she gave to him. But he still suffered from his stomachache.

He was squirming from pain in his bed. She hugged him calming him down until the painkiller affect his body. Giving him the warm and the safeness, he needed. Until he fall in sleep in her arms. She put his body slowly on bed and sat on a chair next to his bed. Touching his forehead every hour to be sure that his fever is gone. After midnight, she touched him and found that he started to have a fever again. She ran and brought bills to reduce his temperature again. And she brought iced water with small towel to put on his head. And stayed like this all night. Every two hours or three his fever back and she repeats the process until his temperature be normal again.

Next morning

RK opened his eyes. He saw Madhu sitting on the ground and resting her head on his bed and a towel on his forehead. He raised his hand to remove the towel. When she opened her eyes and stood up.

"How do you feel now? Are you ok? Does your stomach still hurt?" Madhu touching his forehead to check his temperature for the twenty times this day

"Thank God your fever is gone. Tell me do you need anything. Are you hungry? Should I bring you anything?" Madhu

"One question at a time Madhu" RK

"Forgive me. Tell me how are you now?" Madhu

"I'm fine now. Away better than yesterday. I'm sorry you had to see me like this" RK

"It is ok. Tell me does your stomach still hurt?" Madhu

"No it is ok now really. You can go and rest. You didn't sleep at all last night" RK

"It is ok. I will make you hot soup" Madhu

"Please go and rest I will have my breakfast and go to hospital" RK

"No. You are not going anywhere. It is doctor's order. You will take this day off" Madhu

"But Madhubala I have patients waiting for me" RK

"No way, I let you leave. I will call Dr. Sharma to take care of your patients today. Wait here I will bring the soup" Madhu

RK was too weak to argue her. So he just follow her orders. After all, she is his doctor now. After half an hour she back with a tray and a soup bowl. She tried to help him eat

"What are you doing?" RK

"Feeding you" Madhu

"I can eat by myself. I'm not a kid" RK

"RK. Soup is hot. And you are too weak to eat alone. Please let me help you" Madhu

"No. and where is your breakfast?" RK

"What?" Madhu

"Your breakfast. You didn't eat anything since yesterday morning. Go and bring your breakfast or I will not eat anything" RK

"RK please you eat first then I will have my breakfast later" Madhu

"No" RK

"Don't be stubborn like kids" Madhu

"What?" RK felt offended to be compared with kids

"Ok sorry. I will bring my breakfast" Madhu

"Quickly" RK

"Ok wait for me I'll be back in five minutes" Madhu

After few minutes, Madhu back with her breakfast and they both started to eat. But she noticed that RK's hand shaking and it was too weak to hold the spoon well. So she started to feed him and he didn't object this time. They both finished their breakfast. RK was trying to stand up

"Where are you going? Do you need anything?" Madhu

"I just need to freshen up" RK

"Ok come I will help you" Madhu

"No Madhubala no need" RK

"RK you still dizzy. You may fall. Come" Madhu held his arm to help him stand up

"I need to take a shower" RK

"Ok come I will help you" Madhu

"No you will not" RK

"I can't let you alone behind closed door. You are so weak. If you fall on the bathtub it will be problem" Madhu

"I will not fall" RK

They reach the bathroom's door arguing

"You will not helping me in the shower. End of discussion" RK

"I helped you yesterday" Madhu in challenging tone

"I don't care. You will not coming with me in there" RK embarrassed remembering last night when she helped him to shower

"Ok but you will not lock the door. And promise me if you feel dizzy you will call me" Madhu

"I Promise you. If I need you, I will call you. OK happy now?" RK

"Ok I'm here close to the door" Madhu

After 15 minutes, she saw him coming out of the bathroom. She reached him at once and helped him to set on chair in his room

"It is ok now Madhubala. I'm ok now. Please go and take rest" RK

"But RK you may need anything" Madhu

"No I don't need anything. Please go and sleep" RK

"I'm not sleepy" Madhu

"If you don't go now and sleep I will go to hospital" RK threatening her

"No you can't go anywhere" Madhu

"So listen to me and go and sleep now" RK

"Ok" Madhu in defeated tone then she left him to sleep in her room
