Bhansali's Padmaavat and the release has
impacted the release schedules of other
films. Yesterday, Akshay Kumar official
announced that his film PadMan has been
postponed to February 9th and will be
clashing with Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj
Bajpayee's Aiyaary.
Now, PadMan will have a solo release as
Aiyaary makers will prepone the release to
January 26. A source told us, "Aiyaary will
now release on January 26 and will not
really suffer as exhibitors and distributors
want to play safe. They are fearing to pay
the rights for Padmaavat. The official
announcement will be out soon."
Manoj Bajpayee had earlier said to a leading
daily that there are no plans of Aiyaary to
change its release date again. He said,
"We're not moving the release date any
further. Earlier also we were to come
together. If it's happening again on
February 9th, we'll hug each other. We're all
friends so we'll hug each other. I think
we've already been generous enough to
move (our release date) since there were 3
movies coming together on Jan 25 and
there aren't as many theatres in the country,
but now we're coming on February 9."
Aiyaary stars an ensemble cast of Sidharth
Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Pooja Chopra,
Rakul Preet, Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin
Shah.
Manoj is the mentor while Sidharth Malhotra
plays his protege in the film. In an interview
with a leading trade website, Sidharth spoke
about how working with Manoj has helped
him out as an actor. He said, "I think that
since Manoj Bajpayee is from theatre he is
more pure as an actor, and he was far more
involved in helping me, and making the
environment nice and comfortable for me in
Aiyaary, even though we have very few
scenes together in the film."
"It is more of a cat-and-mouse game but
after the shoot, we would always talk about
the performance. He conducts workshops
himself, he is an acting coach, in a way. I
think with Manoj, I have had more of a
mentor-student relationship and that is
what the film is about. It's been great and I
have learnt a lot from him in Aiyaary. He
would take the time to discuss certain
scenes, the prep he had done, and how
important it is for an actor to work on his
craft. He would teach me little things about
acting every day. He used to give me
exercises to bring out the best in me as an
actor. With him, it has been a great learning
experience from just talking to him about
acting, to exercises and preparation,"
Sidharth revealed.
What do you have to say about it?
