I agree, srk-saif as hosts made a remarkable combo. They had kickass chemistry, crazy humour and even managed to make us laugh.

It was pretty surprising to see Sony end their almost two decade old partnership with Filmfare. Don't know whether they let the rights off or Colors bought it at a higher price but I think it's the former. From a broadcaster's point of view, the TRP of Filmfare comes nowhere close to Zee Cine or IIFA which is the highest rated award show, so probably they let it go due to low returns. They did the same a while back with Stardust awards as well which went to Colors. Funnily, Colors is almost like the monopoly of award show broadcast - Stardust, IIFA, Filmfare. Makes sense though knowing how TRP hungry the channel is. 😆

Re. SRK-Saif, I guess the industry started getting a bit too offended with the jokes so they kept on toning down. It used to be fun when the AIB guys were the writer of Filmfare, now it looks like some TV writer writes their script.
