Hi beagle...as usual a wonderful post...everything that I have wanted to say out loud here you've written in your post.
Its completely unreasonable to attack actors for the characters they are portraying...but I guess that's human psyche...when attached to a particular celeb the line blurs between reel and real...
Honestly I have never found vikram or namik lacking in the acting department or one performing better than the other...its just that I have been enamoured by the character of shiv from the beginning because the show is named after this spirit and everything revolves around his life story...so I was bound to be interested in the character...and the thriller element drew me in...
But of late the gap between expectations and what is being shown has not been taken very kindly...but the synopsis, the interviews none of them were supposed to give out the actual plot...on the contrary it was supposed to be alluded that shiv is the one wrecking havoc...that's the whole point of the story...and its juvenile to even think that the plot wasn't the same because the name of the show talks about this very character...why would a living person be addressed as Tha!! So there shouldn't have been a confusion about this in the first place...
I am interested in watching vikram essay the negative character, I am sure he will do justice to his role just as namik is doing to the role of shiv...😊
One might have a favourite but just don't run down the person you don't like only because a fictional character isn't sketched according to your whim because at the end of the day they are just doing their job and are entertaining everyone...hope people understand this!!!

This is not about just this forum or show but pretty much any show in general. I've seen the rise and fall of many fandoms, the only consistent thing is the passion of the fans. It's always bothered me how violent people can get over this kind of stuff...
While it's great to be involved, people do need to realize that it is a fictional show. At the end of the day, none of this actually affects your lives, it is really not a life and death situation! Please maintain a level of reality and human decency. It's one thing to engage in gentle teasing and such, another to threaten, harass, etc.
It is not just the fans of the other "ships" but the actors themselves who are affected. In fact, with this show the leads are very good friends so the fans should respect their relationships and comrade!

Thanks beagleboy.. for a well written, meant well sensible post.. Your views echo many members thoughts.. fan's get emotional and think the world of their idols.. Here fan fever is seen in Foot ball ,premier and league matches.. and believe you me, passions run high and turn to violence too..I have been drawn into mad frenzy myself too.. especially during sport.. but then have to restrain my self and be a good sport... ummmh with clenched fists!
Now coming back to EDT.. i joined because I had seen Vikram in JNDSD.. BUT Namik I had never seen before ,so for me it was and will be a matter of choice that I GET to watch three brilliant actors , who deliever there very best.. Vikram, Donal, and Namik.. I celebrate all three. Plus, I ensure that I abide by the IF forum rules. To me each one of us is a significant member of our EDT family.. the show, the actors , transcends language, creed, nationalites and makes us celebrate each others valuable input on the form.. so lets agree to disagree with respect.. .. love hammie
