i think after diya decided to live in kesar mahal ,diya's father left his palace because of humiliation he would have faced from people as his unmarried daughter was living in someone else place...and now he is living in small house ,i think diya's father was also a big thakur even though not big as maan singh...that could be the reason esha said they dont have any mayaka as his father is hiding and living in some far away small place.

:-( I really liked the actor who played the role earlier. There was a flashback which showed him (Khichdi wala scene). I guess he was also playing her father's role in earlier version. But now he is in an important role in Porus.
