EDT~ ep. 57~ 9.1.18, My stance.. an answer to prayers

Those adhering to a faith, often as part of their worship, put forth prayer requests before their deities. Those without a faith also appeal to the goodness within themselves to ask for something they want and wait for a long time.

The opening scene is a faith based poignant one. Sadhvi is a pious woman, who practices her faith. Here we find her with Sharanya , a devotee turning her back to the mother goddess. Sadhvi like a strong upholder of faith, retrieves Sharanya's faltering faith in Maata. Like most humans, Sharanya too wants quick fix its from the gods. Sadhvi's aim is maintain Sharanya's beliefs. Maata s sign to Sadhvi of the blowing vermillionfrom the platter on her altar, is yet another attempt to encourage Sharanya to seek answers to her questions directly from the spirit of virtue rather than invoke the powers of evil. Through divine powers, Sharanya's palm on the sacred vermillion platter, traces the image of Maata's idol in Kapali hills. Sharanya's eyes, behold a clue to the place where she is likely to find answers about who Shiv is? why is out to harm Sharanya and Vyom? Sharanya's hazy memory reveals, she knew the place. It 's where Vyom and her accident happened! The spirit too, in his visitations sibilantly whispered the name of Kapali hills. Sharanya is keen , willing, open to further divine suggestions Sadhvi now gives to her. Sadhvi prepares her for a crusade to secure her husband Vyom's life once and for all. She renews Sharanya's faith by inspiring her to fight for virtue and vanquish vice, by heading for Kapli hills on the following day of Karvacauth, a day which celebrates the married woman. A day where the married woman, observes a fast for the longevity and well being of her husband. Answers to her questions in Kapli hills about Shiv will set free Vyom's life from all risk factors forever.. this then is Sharanya's pay back to Vyom , for all he has done for her till date. Take away the fear of losing his life.. this then is small gift from a wife to her husband.. a walk into uncertain realms, unknown, of what to expect. But Kapali hills she must traverse , on her own, alone! All to defeat , fear, and that spirit named Shiv.. Sadhvi blesses her and arms Sharanya with a renewed hope , positive vigour and regained faith in Maata's power.

The Karvacauth scene where the married women of the Bedi family congregate briefly, is one which celebrates the significance of the day for a woman with a husband. They dress for the occasion, a sight aimed to please their husband. All their preening and grooming is to flaunt the fact that their husband lives. Rati is tearful, as Vidyut is missing, but the women of the household give her emotional support. Sharanya's absence is taken as her indifference, even though her husband is fighting for his life in hospital. But Sharanya does turn up ,dressed for the occasion. She is met with acidic remarks from a still bitter Madhvi. But Sharanya is filled with Maata's divine positive determination. She seeks blessings from Madhvi, not as Sharanya the person disliked by her mother in law, but as her son's wife! Madhvi blesses her, as she wants Sharanya to be a married woman, seeing her son's life is connected to Sharanya being married to Vyom. Vyom's life determines Sharanya's marital status. Sharanya's saving grace in this scene is her open confession, that she is responsible for endangering her husband's life. But no more will that happen! as today, she leaves, to dispel evil from Vyom's life once and for all! Shranaya ,only reveals what is essential, nothing more nothing less and then leaves.. with her mother in law's blessings..

The final scene is Sharanya stopping at the hospital for few private moments with the critically injured man who makes her a married woman. But before that she has to confront Rajan. Her appeal to him, surely he cannot deny a married woman from seeing her husband on the solemn occasion of Karvacauth. Sharanya melts Rajan's heart, when she appeals, she means no further harm to Vyom. In the past her prayers, and the presence of her love, have pulled Vyom from the jaws of death..

The scene between Vyom and Sharanya is moving and sincere. Sharanya, cries at his bandaged, mute state. A wife pours her sentiments before her patient husband. There is deep regret, remorse ,and confession before Vyom. She meant well, but her well, turned out detrimental for him. Now to make amends, once more she ventures forth on a mission without him. He will just have to trust her on this one too , like he did on past occasions. Shrananya is uncertain if she'll return, alive from the land she ventures forth into. Tearfully she assures him, come what may ,she'll forever be with him in his heart and soul. In her absence, Maata's sacred red thread given to her by Sadhvi will protect him from the evil one. As his wife she ties the protective thread around his wrist... it s time to part.. I love you Vyom, she says and kisses his forehead as her parting gift for her unconscious husband. Shiv who watches silently cringes at Sharanya's action..

As she moves away from Vyom's bedside, the end of her pallu, the sign of her virtuosity as a wife, that her husband safeguard's, gets entangled in Vyom's fingers. She's leaving and he doesn't want to let go off her. But depart she must, to grant security to his life! a life without the threat of a spirit ending it .. she sets her pallu free and heads, as Vyom's wife to Kapali hills.. Shiv watches and recites, "Beyond the pages of history, you've got to go back to that time. "Where there's only suffering, turmoil, love and betrayal. You know it all. You just need to recall it.

Shiv in his lines, sums up the misery he went through.. now he waits for Sharanya to seek answers, for herself. Was she one who betrayed another? Again another episode that brings out the best in Donal, as Sharanya , a wife with a mission. The episode smoothly chugs along , events make is possible now for Sharanya to head for kapali hills.. tomorrow she plods along in the snow, followed by the tall dark figure of Shiv who looms high and stands out against the thick white snowy expanse... she run's, trips, and desperately hangs on to something ? a palm..she looks closely its Shiv's body blanketed under the thick snow... will sharanya's prayers be answered , by Maata Devi ..hamlet53 10.1.18

Hello Hemmie! Beautiful analysis as usual. Loved to read but tbh I didn't find last night's episode very exciting. Reason one is that I think they are going overboard with this Patni saving pati dialogues. I watch Sony shows to avoid exactly this. Reason two is everyone's makeup. I understand it's karwachauth but come on! Vyom is one's son and other one's husband but the time they spent to do their hair and makeup makes it unbelievable and unconvincing. In initial episodes Sharanya had very natural get up which is gone since wedding. I would still be ok if her hubby was fine but apparently he is fighting death. Reason three is Vikram not Vyom. What's up with him choosing characters that keeps on get injured?? Same happened in his other show which I didn't follow but saw here and there and now again. Too much to see him in bandages all the time.
So you heard she said the magic words? Unfortunately I didn't. This would be a huge turn of events for the story and to Vyom and if she does say it then Vyom should be in a state to experience it.

Hello Hamlet. 😃

I usually am a silent follower of your analysis, and I absolutely love the neutrality you bring in to your reviews. 👏

I guess, not getting involved with the nitty-gritties of the main forum does help one keep his/her sanity and thus, keep a strong neutral stance.

I quoted these paras on purpose- the last scene stood out for me the most in the entire episode. I do agree a little with Israt here, the whole pativrata patni/suhaag chant was a little overboard. Also, the director and writers have to take care of dressing up the women according to their mental state and current circumstances. Can't blame the characters or actors here, the blame mostly lies on the two departments I mentioned.

Anyway, coming to the last scene and my quote of that scene's review- it stood out for me mostly because of the stark contrast it stood to the rest of the episode. Since the incident at Odhni's den, we have witnessed how Sharanya's actions have been driven by a one-track mind to either save Vyom or to fight the spirit. For once, she is driven by her faith in the very Goddess she worships. She is driven by a mad desire to end the woes that has been brought on their lives by the spirit, once and for all.

She knows, there's a 50:50 chance of her coming back alive. She knows she is looking death in the eye, again. She is ready to die, again- only and only if it means that no harm shall come on Vyom at her cost.

But the highlight of the episode had to be Sharanya's parting lines to Vyom- "Even if I die, I will be there in everything you do, in everything you own, in everything that is yours."

Sharanya, till date. has been shown as the do-gooder, the selfless lover. However, the last 3 episodes and these lines has successfully transitioned her character from being the flawed, white-washed woman to the grey woman. Her selflessness gone in an instant. She claimed the very right in his life that Vyom claimed right before their marriage day.

"Promise me, even if I die, you will remain mine"- he begged her, then.

"Even if I die, I know I will be there in everything that's yours"- she claimed now.

Once again, wonderful analysis! 😳

Beautiful, Hammie!
What struck me was Shiv's pained face as Sharanya said her goodbye to Vyom. And her dialogues itself. What drives her-love or guilt? When Vyom spoke to her last, he seemed contented with her friendship. And wanted to wait. That was a gentlemanly gesture. Would Shiv see this side of Vyom's character and wish him upon Sharanya in the days to come?

Eager to see what Sharanya will do once she knows who Shiv was. Hope there is no more stalling.

Ohhh hammie. ..An answer to prayers!! Beautiful stance dear...
I didn't get the chance to see the episode as I was away... bt seems I didn't miss much as story is still stuck with saas bahu drama... all the wifey responsibilities n how she endorsing them in whole wide world I would have surely loved n accepted only if I was sure Sharanya knows her whole truth! ! Bt right now she's unaware of her ownself... so her patnivarta avatar is jst distasteful rushed n not palatable at all for me...

Story seems stuck again... with the lollypop of kapali hills cv's are busy shoving saas bahu saga down our throat... plz hav mercy cv's. .ab bht hoa...!!!😆

"Beyond the pages of history, you've got to go back to that time. "Where there's only suffering, turmoil, love and betrayal. You know it all. You just need to recall it.

He could be referring to the latest dhoka she's busy gving him... bt let's see. ..it's already 60th episode... means we hav completed half of the serial already. ..n cv's hav conveniently made a fool out of both fandom... hope they now tighten atleast few loopholes. ...😕

Hammie i'll rely on ur post may be frm now on... as I do want something substantial in the story now... till then will get a short break frm watching bt definitely will devour on ur fantastic stances... hope ur doing fine now hammie... luv n hugs..!!!

yes the make up was cakey and OTT... yes indeed how pretty and natural sharanya looked in the initial episodes... they have to differentiate between the married and unmarried looks..😆
Too much to see him in bandages all the time.yes me recalls... his memory kept going back and forth... memory loss is nowadays a favorite theme with shows... like in EDT, sharanya has it... if she rememberedeverything.. the story would end!
So you heard she said the magic words? Unfortunately I didn't. This would be a huge turn of events for the story and to Vyom and if she does say it then Vyom should be in a state to experience it.

I guess, not getting involved with the nitty-gritties of the main forum does help one keep his/her sanity and thus, keep a strong neutral stance.

its like other forums members have their personal fav'.. i just to enjoy the works of the main cast.. plus the complexities of chracters.

I quoted these paras on purpose- the last scene stood out for me the most in the entire episode. I do agree a little with Israt here, the whole pativrata patni/suhaag chant was a little overboard. Also, the director and writers have to take care of dressing up the women according to their mental state and current circumstances. yes..me too agreethe cvs have to promote the, humble, serving committed wife.. husband to be worshipped like a god.. see she puts her life in danger, to save her husbands..

She is driven by a mad desire to end the woes that has been brought on their lives by the spirit, once and for all.

yes quite right.. and its sadhvi, who helps sharanya regain her faith in the power of Maata,rani.. at last she becomes part of the battle between good evil..

She knows, there's a 50:50 chance of her coming back alive. She knows she is looking death in the eye, again. She is ready to die, again- only and only if it means that no harm shall come on Vyom at her cost....

she is prepared to lay down her life if needs be to overcome evil

But the highlight of the episode had to be Sharanya's parting lines to Vyom- "Even if I die, I will be there in everything you do, in everything you own, in everything that is yours."

strong lines... do they suggest, till death do us part? or love carrying on beyond death?like Shiv's

Sharanya, till date. has been shown as the do-gooder, the selfless lover. However, the last 3 episodes and these lines has successfully transitioned her character from being the flawed, white-washed woman to the grey woman. Her selflessness gone in an instant. She claimed the very right in his life that Vyom claimed right before their marriage day.

well thought out thought provoking view

"Promise me, even if I die, you will remain mine"- he begged her, then.

"Even if I die, I know I will be there in everything that's yours"- she claimed now.

interestingly, her lines in some way echo what he said to her earlier

Once again, wonderful analysis! 😳

hey Lilth, super views, me pleased you popped by to share them with me... thanks for your support... much love hammie
