I think Shiv is Madhvi's son from another father, most probably Rajan's big bro. May be before Vyom was born Rajan pretended as father to Shiv and after Vyom's birth Rajan ka asli roop came out. Madhvi just tried to fix this by engaging Shiv in something else like music. Music is in their gene. May be that is why Vyom sings too, like his half bro Shiv.
I don't think SHiv was poor. In fact I believe most probably the whole property Rajan is enjoying now was actually belonged to Shiv. If Rajan's big bro was the father of Shiv then it is possible. May be SHiv found this just before he was murdered. Shiv+Sharanya+Vyom is just a confusion intentionally created by Rajan to keep Vyom and Shiv apart and hide his( Rajan's) crime. Madhvi and all the ladies in the house are just Rajan's puppet.
There could be 2 motives behind Rajan's encouragement for Vyom to marry Sharanya-
1. To control Vyom
2. To inherit the property of Shiv ---------if Sharanya and Shiv was married, then now SHaranya is the owner of entire property.
The way Madhvi was begging to Shiv looked like Madhvi and SHiv had a good relationship. They can't be lovers---------so may be son and mom.
