That's surely what they were aiming for from the get go. There wasn't much hype around the movie before its release so now they are ressorting to having it clash with a bigger star's.

Someone's trying to reenact the Dilwale vs BM clash her...

I don't live in India so really I wouldn't know but from what I felt, It wasn't as talked about as BM which was marred in speculations regarding its clash with Dilwale.

I had the impression people were disappointed with the trailer and posters...

What about Aiyyari? Is it preponed or postponed?? A huge film like Padmavati needed a solo release.

But without the hype of a clash, would they have been able to recover the budget which might have hit the roof by now.

Yes, but u need max no of screens to recover that kinda budget. Won't be easy with a clash however good the wom is.

Nothing is confirmed for now but I don't think it's a smart move : clashing with two other films that too with Akki and Siddarth...
Padmavati budget being the highest, I feel it will suffer the most even if it makes better then the other two .
What's the budget of Padman ? I think it will do good even if it clashes especially if the WOM is good. The topic is such that I'm sure it will perform well on the long run.
