Happy new year to all the lovely people on this forum. I am posting a Shivati OS as a New Year gift😆.
I miss seeing Shivati together. This seperation track is too sad. Dunno if i can bear to watch Dumavati track. Anyway I was missing Shivati so much that I started scribbling stories. I thought I would post it here.
My knowledge of mythology is very limited. So if there is any mistake plz forgive me. I am not much of a writer either. Criticism is welcome but do give me ur feedback.
The gentle rays of the sun spread over the mountain landscape. The dew drops on the leaves and flowers melted as the morning sun touched them making it look like someone had watered them early in the morning. The birds chirped iand sung in their sweet voices welcoming the new day. Small animals hustled about. Flowers bloomed all around. Nature showed in one of its most beautiful forms. The beauty of the moment was enhanced to perfection by the maiden who stood in the middle of it all smiling. Her fair skin looked like gold as the gentle sunrays fell on it. Her face was radiant. Her long hair lay in curls, adorned with beautiful ornaments. Her kohl lined eyes sparkled with life.
The daughter of the mountains, Parvati, smiled looking around her. She loved this place. It wasnt far from her palace but removed from the hustle of the palace. She visited the spot every morning. She loved the peace there. She would perhaps have stayed there longer but she had to get back to the palace. She looked down at the basket in her hand. She had what she came for. Bel patra for Him.
She walked towards the palace enjoying the sights around her. This was the only time she was allowed to leave the palace alone. Her mother wasnt very happy about that. But she had insisted that she would go alone and collect the flowers she needed for her puja. As she walked on a little further her sakhis Jaya and Vijaya joined her. She loved both of them. They had been with her since they were children. They were here constant companions. They woukd accompany her in the morning but linger outside the palace gardens collecting flowers while Parvati herself went further to get her belpatra and cherish the beauty of the spot she loved.
They smiled cheerfully as she joined them and they headed to the palace. Jaya and Vijaya as always chatrered on while Parvati listened to them smiling.
"Parvati, you know, our Purohit ji's daughter is getting married next week. " Jaya said.
"Of course. Ma told me. We will be sending her gifts soon. " Parvati replied.
The girls chattered on about how the wedding would be, the arrangements , clothes , gifts and so on, while Parvati listened silently. As they were preparing for the pooja Jaya said
"Well. I wonder what your wedding will be like Rajkumari. "
"It will be the grandest wedding that the kingdom has seen of course. The whole kingdom will rejoice. After all everyone loves our rajkumari. The whole kingdom speaks of her kindness and good nature. And of course her beauty. " Vijaya said.
Parvati smiled at them.
"Our Rajkumari would say now that it isnt the wedding but the marriage that matters. That marriage is to find your other half. Right? " Jaya asked smiling.
Parvati nodded smiling.
"Well then. We will talk about your groom then. Vijaya teased Parvati as she blushed.
"Well he would be the best. The most handsome and powerful. " Jaya said smiking as Parvati blushed even more.
"Our Parvati is the best too. Everyone talks about her beauty and nature. There will be hundreds of suitors to marry her. There will be a swayamvar perhaps. " Vijaya said cheerfully.
Parvati smiled at them fondly and said "Sakhi. Destiny will play its game when it is time. Now, it is time for my puja. "
With that she left them and headed for her puja. She looked at the bel patra in her hand and blushed. There would be no swayamvar for her. She had chosen her husband long ago. It was only He she thought of. He was in every thought of hers. She wished to spend every moment of her existence chanting his name.
She looked at the shivling in front of her. A serene smile came on her face as she placed the belpatra near the shiv ling. A warmth and feeling of belonging came over her everytime she looked at it. She had been doing this everyday for years. It was the best part of her day. It was like she could feel his presence around her. After all he was in everything.
She couldn't remember when this thought had taken root in her mind. When she had decided that she would marry him. Sometimes she felt like it had always been that way. That it was the reason for her existence. She was always his.The Shivling seemed to draw her towards it for as long as she remembered. She remembered the first time when in that very room her father had told her about him. Mahadev , the God of Gods. The all powerful ascetic. Withdrawn from the world yet present in everything. The God who was kind and pleased easily and the fierce destroyer. As she listened to it she felt she knew it all. As if she had always known all of it and yet never knew. She smiled lost in her thoughts.
She knew it woyldnt be easy. But this was her journey and she would complete it. He was her destiny. She didnt know how she knew that but she just did. She knew her journey wouldn't be easy and she didn't know how itvwould start. But she knew one thing. It would end in him. Her other half.
And when she did the world would celebrate it. A love that would remain untainted with time , which would overcome any hurdle and which would forever set an example.
Yes, that was her destiny.
