Part 2
Shravan Started high school and soon Pushkar and Suman joined, but as they stepped into their teenage age, things changed. Shravan had his own peers and Suman had her own friends at school .They weren't in the same grade nor had the same taste in friends. HE had his own friends from the basketball team and other boys his age .She just had a few studious friends and liked it that way,yet they both never failed to acknowledge one another. Shravan was still protective over her and watched out for her and his cousin at school.
Shravan became the captain of the basketball team and much more active in school activities. He loved School trips, night out with friends and going to the gym but still managed to do well in his subjects. Shravan was growing into a handsome man, and started attracting a lot of female attention.
Suman was more subtle and quiet at school, she wasn't in the popular group like he was, she would talk to him occasionally at school whenever they crossed path but always gave him space and not mingle too much with him. Especially when he was getting a lot of attention from girls, one in particular .Her name was Urvashi, a very pretty girl , somehow made their ugly uniforms look amazing. Her hair nails and makeup was always spot on! Almost all the boys had a crush on her, they all found her hot and beautiful. She seemed to have a big crush on Shravan in like forever. Suman had gym class with her and all she talked about was Shravan with her friends.
When Shravan came to Tiwari villa it was a different. They would have more open conversation they were laughs and teasing all the time. They played cards; board games, badminton and sometimes did homework together.
They would continue going to the fun fair and kite festival something they did every year along with Pushkar! They always had a good time ,they always came back with prizes and cotton Candy .Suman was always grateful to have both guys in her life .They never let her get bored ever, since childhood .
Shravan was glad that they still kept their friendship even if at school they didn't hang out, she was always his sweet friend and enjoyed her company a lot. She was different from his friends at school who were mostly boys.
One afternoon after school Shravan went over Tiwari Villa
"Sumo look properly!" A teenage Shravan scold yet trying his best to hold her up . He was picking her up from her legs as she tried searching for his gameboy on Nanu's Shelf
"It's not here!" She said fumbling through the top shelf
"Im sure it's there but you're not looking properly!" he said putting her down
"Fine look for it yourself! Take advantage of your never ending height!" she teased and crossed her arms leaning against the book shelf.
As the years progress Shravan was becoming tall and handsome which didn't go unnoticed by Suman.
"I will!"
"If you didn't fail that Math Test , Nanu would have never taken away your gameboy!" She teased chuckling
"Shut up Sumo! I had a basketball match a day before so didn't have time to study properly! "He defended
They suddenly heard Nanu's voice downstairs and ran out before they got caught! They went through their secret passage way ,a window next door connecting to the storage room and the front garden ..Shravan swiftly jumped through the window and helped Suman who was struggling a bit
"Hurry up Sumo" HE yelled in a whisper
"I'm trying!! "He held her hands and helped her get through the window and quickly shut it with a sigh of relief
They looked at each other still holding one hand together. They quickly let go awkwardly and made their way out the storage room
They entered Sumo's room panting "Shravan this is the last time were looking for that gameboy She said annoyed they've searched for the pass two days.
Shravan rolled his eyes "its not fair"
"Well then just work harder next time , like me I have an average of 95 in all my subjects!" She said proudly
"Oh yaa!! Because you spend half of the time in the library!" he said sarcastically
"At least I don't get my stuff confiscated! "She defended
"Well if I wasn't academically good I wouldn't have been selected in the sport program at school "He pointed and was right , the students who wanted to join any sport team needed to have an average of 85% and above
"Ok fine you win Mr smarty pants now get out I have to change and then help mamiji in the kitchen " She said pushing him out .As Suman became older she started helping her Mamiji who seemed to start nagging her to do house chores
"I'm not leaving until I get my halwa!" HE said moving backwards against her hand on his back
"Ok OK Bukar wait outside" She pushed hard yet playfully closing the door .He smiled waiting for her in the kitchen
Last Standard
Shravan was in his Last standard getting ready for College and Suman and Pushkar were not far behind. When Suman started high school she was a little chubby but cute .Now she was growing into a beauty with her height increasing and her hair growing out, her body changing. She was becoming very attractive!
Shravan became more and more fond of her .She was ,responsible took care of her family ,kind and had a beautiful smile .She dressed simple unlike most girls in his school who tried to crop their uniform and wear short skirts ,shorter then provided .Sumo didn't dress to impress ,she was never craving for attention . This was something he adored about her ...she was different ,not to mention an amazing cook
Once he and his cousin went over accompanying Nirmala .They were too shy to tell any family member that they were getting hungry .The only person they felt free to ask was Sumo
She cooked them delicious snacks like samosa , channa chat ,bhelpuri and pakore .
"Sumo you're a life saver!!"Pushkar said digging in sitting in her room on the couch
"I know I know "She said smugly yet giggled cutely
"She will always be our life saver" Shravan said giving her a grateful smile
"Especially from Nanu "Pushkar said getting anxious just at the thought of Nanu's strict scolding
Shravan and Suman started laughing and continued munching on their snacks.
"Actually Mr.Chadda told us that at this age Boys tend to have a bigger appetite, so its my responsible to make sure to feed you guys !"Suman said winking
"Thank you Sumoo "Shravan said giving her a sweet side hug .Her cheeks flushed lightly but thankfully no one noticed!
They became huge fans of her cooking and whenever they went over she would surprise them with new experimental dishes and waited for their feedback . They loved her food and always gave her encouragements.

At school most of Shravan's friends had girlfriends and sometimes felt left out . His peers encouraged him to make Urvashi his girlfriend. They all knew she had a huge crush on him and she even asked him to the movie . Just like any teenage boy he agreed to experiment a little. Though feelings for her weren't the same as for Suman Tiwari .
He liked Sumo a lot and even thought of asking her on a date .But he knew it wouldn't go down well with Nanu and her family! Or even her!! ! He never really knew what Sumo thought of him and never asked her .Avoiding to make things awkward between them and their friendship.
Suman wasn't surprised that he started dating Urvashi , he was very attractive any girl would have loved to be with him .She just tried to avoid having feelings for him, but it was hard and failed miserably. She was starting to like him more than just a friend .But she tried discarding her feelings not wanting to ruin their friendship and make it awkward.
In the locker room of their gym class Urvashi walked in as Suman was making her ponytail
"Listen Tiwari, Im dating Shravan now ,so you better not come in between us .I know you guys are family friends and all but now you need to give him his space"
Suman rolled her eyes avoiding to argue with Urvashi , she was very influential and powered almost all the girls . And she really didn't want to get involved.
One morning Shravan was sitting with his friends on the picnic bench outside few of them had their girlfriends by their side and Urvashi of course had her arms around his shoulder flattering his hair .
They all saw Suman and Bunty walking together. Suman saw one glance of Shravan and Urvashi together and looked way ignoring them !She tried to keep distance from him for the past couple of weeks because of an insecure Urvashi who told her not to come in-between them and that's exactly what she was doing .
It bothered Suman when she saw Urvashi kiss his cheek, she felt a uneasiness settle in her stomach .She never thought one day she will see her friend getting showered with love by another girl ! But they were both growing up and had to accept the fact that it wasn't the same anymore.
Shravan noticed since he started dating Urvashi ,Suman started taking more distance then usual Even when they passed by the hallway she just smiled not even stopping to speak to him. This bothered him but figured it was probably because he had a girlfriend and she didn't want to interfere .Shravan hated not getting her attention anymore! He wondered if he made a good decision dating Urvashi !Even tough they never kissed on the lip it was mostly just hugs and she would kiss his cheek sometimes, he somehow couldn't get to give her the same affection.
Suman ignored them helping Bunty carry their science project . It was a volcano assemble made with Clay . Sumo heard some of Shravan's friends teasing them
"Hey hey ! Look at that Romeo and Juliette!" Rahul called out laughing With other of his peers.
Shravan didn't find it very funny "Rahul cut it out " he warned
"Come on Shravan admit that they both look great together" Karan added tugging his girlfriend to his side
"Yaar Bunty is a homosexual; his title should be Romeo and Julian "Arjun teased as laughter went on in the group.
Bunty was Sumo's special friend, he was a little chubby with glasses and would love to eat. He was made fun by other students because of his sexuality. But Suman never judged him, he was a sweet guy and not like the typical boys in her school teasing the girls !
Suman looked at Bunty "Just ignored them they have nothing better to do" she said giving them a cold stare!
Rahul sneakily rolled his basketball on their way and they both tripped and fell on the ground. Suman was fuming with anger looking at her skin tear on her arm. Bunty was on his stomach trying to get up searching for his glasses further away .
As soon as they fell Shravan ran to them especially Suman . His friends and Urvashi stopped laughing watching on confused.
"Sumo! are You ok !?" He forwarded his hand but she got up herself giving him a cold glance. She helped Bunty get up giving him his glasses fortunately still in one piece.
"Are you ok Bunty ?" She asked worriedly, but she could see he was embarrassed
"I'm fine but that's not !"They both looked at their science project destroyed in the mud . They Picked it out trying to recuperate it .
"Here let me help "Shravan offered
"No! It's ok we'll manage!! "she warned sternly
"Sumo your bleeding" he said about to hold her arm but she swayed it away before he could touch her .
"So what ! It's just a scratch!" her voice became a pitch higher
" it's not just a scratch! you have to go to the nurse ,come let's go "he stated concernedly
"I'm fine Shravan I could take care of myself! You go and join your stupid friends! "She yelled feeling frustrated at him and his friends
He knew she was angry and watched her walk with Bunty
Shravan looked back at his friends furiously and stomped towards them
"I swear Rahul next time you pick on them I'll forget that we're friends!"
"Come on Shravan we were just having fun!"
" Not at the cost of hurting Sumo!!!"He roared making a lot of students turned their head seeing him so Angry .Shravan grabbed his bag walking away
" Shravan it was just a scratch! " Rahul yelled from behind as Shravan walked away in anger
Urvashi watched getting envious of Suman after seeing her boyfriend so worried for her !
In gym class the teacher made the girl students run 5 laps around the school yard . Urvashi and her group sat on the bench not participating and made an excuse of having cramps and got away with it everytime! They sat on the bench gossiping which was their favourite pass time.
Suman was running with Purna when she saw the boys from the basketball team training outside. She saw Shravan wearing his jersey tee as he placed the rack of water bottles on the bench; He definitely got more build and fitted taking his workout quite seriously. She felt slightly uncomfortable when the boys came on the field .She hated doing gym in front of them they would let's call out remarks and tease the girls!
"Shravan!!" Urvashi scram waving from the other side of the bench
Shravan smiled lightly getting back to his workout. He did notice Suman running with her cute pony tail and sport wear .She was wearing black shorts and a white t shirt.
Suman and Shravan caught each other gaze for a brief second before she looked away.
Purna and Suman continued jogging and talking "you know Shravan got really angry at Rahul this morning for making you fall "
Suman frowned her brows confused "really?"
"Ya he was pretty loud and warned them to never hurt you" she stated firmly "I guess he's quite protective over you
Suman smiled lightly, he's always been like that and knew he won't ever stop being protective! She got lost in her thoughts not paying attention of her surroundings.
Shravan was about to do his stretches when Suman accidentally bumped into him and they both fell on the ground. They landed on opposite sides on their back and slowly leaned up grimacing painfully still on the floor but facing each other . They just stared at each other for a few moments before bursting into laughter.
They found this quite funny as it wasn't the first time this happened to them, whenever they would play together they would fall, laugh and get back up continuing their chase
Their laugh became louder and louder , some students were giggling when they fell, while others stared confused seeing both of them interact differently.
Shravan got up first and noticed her shorts gone higher to her thigh. Almost exposing her whole leg ! They were flawless and feminine, something Shravan never noticed before. He realized what he was doing and quickly looked away respectfully! Suman fixed herself as he helped her get up .She wiped her arm and back glancing at him thankfully .It was a cute moment yet slightly awkward after their argument in the morning.
"Are you ok ?" He asked
" ya I'm fine you? "
"all good "
" sorry I wasn't watching were I was jogging "she said sheepishly
" I'm sorry too for this morning , Trust me Suman I tried to stop them but .."
"I know , It's ok Shravan I shouldn't have yelled at you , I was just frustrated" She explained calmly
"Listen if there's anything I could do to help with that project .."
"No its ok me and Bunty figured it out "
"How's your arm " He said quickly holding her arm looking at the wound bandaged .She smiled lightly shaking her head, he was never going to stop being caring and protective .
"It's all good Shravan! Stop being a worry wart!" she teased
"Sumo this is your second time falling today, looks like your body will ache when you get home" purna pointed .
Suman just smiled " I'll be fine "
Shravan looked on fondly at Suman before Urvashi came to him "OMG Shravan Are you ok? Suman are you blind couldn't you see him?"
Suman looked on feeling responsible
"Stop it Urvashi it wasn't her fault! Shravan defended "you're not even participating in your gym class so stop getting involved!"
"Im getting involved because I'm you girlfriend " Urvashi said crossing her arms
Suman felt in a very awkward position "Come Sumo Lets go !" Purna said as Suman followed continuing her running
Shravan watched on as Suman left his sight and Urvashi walked away annoyed
"Bro you ok?"ARJUN ASKED chuckling with his other team players
"Ya it's all good "he cleared
Arjun and Rahul were walking towards the basket ball field
"Did you see the way they fell ?!hilarious!"Arjun was laughing
"The only thing I noticed was Suman's legs! I never noticed how beautiful and flawless they look "Rahul added lustily "I must say since the first year we saw her until now , she has gotten very pretty"
"Then you probably should ask her on a date" Arjun encouraged
"Maybe I will Rahul said confidently "Can't wait to feel her perfect pink lips, ohh man!"He said smugly
Shravan heard this and made a fist furiously! Rahul was really pissing him off ! During their basketball practice Shravan was subtly pushing Rahul as he grabbed the ball. He even pushed him on the ground purposely for talking about Suman and had no regrets at all!
Rahul was obviously aware of Shravan change in behaviour and confronted him in the locker room .
"Dude what's up with you?"
Shravan was holding his anger yet looked serious "Nothings up with me! I just hated the way you and Arjun spoke about Sumo!" He confronted him
"Listen Shravan we get it she's a family friend but what about us?"
Shravan got up "Were just team players!"
"Come-on Shravan! I've known you since we started school "
"Ya but I've known her longer!" He stated "And next time if I hear anything about Sumo from your disgusting mouth, you'll wish you were never born ! "He warned and clutched his jaws firmly.
Rahul swallowed nervously nodding not wanting to mess around with Shravan Malhotra!
The next day
Urvashi was in the bathroom with Naina was Arjun's girlfriend, talking.
"Im telling you Urvashi, Shravan really got angry at Rahul ,Arjun was telling me how he pushed Rahul during their basket ball game and in the locker room , stood up for Suman Tiwari!
"I just don't understand, he put his friendship with Rahul at stake just for that Tiwari girl!"Urvashi said tersely
"He said that He's known Suman longer and his friendship with Rahul is insignificant!"
"Really?"
"And you know how Rahul could be dumb sometimes and throw nasty comments .Well he commented on Suman's legs and Shravan told him if next time he spoke like that about her , he would kill him!"
"Im telling you this Suman Tiwari will be a friendship breaker as well as a relationship breaker!" Urvashi huffed walking out
Suman was in the bathroom stall and walked out hearing everything,. Her heart beamed hearing how Shravan stood up her .She was glad that he put his friends in their place , but felt somewhere responsible for the tiff that created between his peers .She didn't want him to lose his friends because of her.
A beautiful grown up Suman sat on the edge of her window reminiscing her childhood .She came out her trance feeling the wind caress her skin , she looked down sadly remembering one particular incident that she never forgot!
Shravan came out his flash back feeling the soft wind caress him , he took a deep sigh and sat on the couch still thinking about his school days and one particular incident ...

"Sumo ,Im so sorry I didn't know that my friendship with you was affecting them so much but I promise Ill take care of it."
"Shravan stop! I don't want your help !I just want you to leave me alone !" She said firmly
Shravan was also getting frustrated; it wasn't going to be easy to stay away from her. He didn't want their friendship to break but it seemed it was heading that way!
They both started arguing, their teenage mood swings got the worst of them
"You barely talk to me at school anymore so what difference does it make!"
"It will make a big difference to me! At least your stupid friends and Girlfriend will leave me alone!!" She yelled back
