I think you are forgetting one thing, while PYEK was a love story between a human and a vampire, here the story is a love story of two normal human beings which will be tested by an evil super natural force. The show's synopsis and initial idea from the promos were also the same one, they just started showing it.

And i beg to differ about sharanya, she is neither timid nor irritated, I understand her reactions and the consequences of her reactions, she has not remembered Vyom at all but unintentionally she has fallen for him so hard that even when he(possessed Vyom) attempted to molest or kill her, her trust in him did not shake, this is her biggest strength indeed, her reason to marry him and be with him was not out of any guilt otherwise she would break down very easily and leave him by now since that is what the ghost wanted and thus tried to scar Vyom's perfect and lovable image in front of her.

This show is a love story, sharanya is supposed to discover her love for Vyom and that is in process, Vyom was meant to be with her, even the initial episodes suggested that if you remember. The pace is slow yes, but the story is on the right track. there is no point of thinking that story should always be something where sharanya will go on a detective mode and ignore Vyom, because as suggested love has to conquer the evil force first and then it has to be eradicated.

About PKYEK then I didn't mention it neither I compare it with EDT both stories are different with obvious reason but I said that's my favorite because it will always remain I may watch different shows even normal one but that one will always be my favorite and that doesn't has to do anything with any of the show including EDT.

Sharanya character is fine and I like it believing she is dealing with spirit but if I watch the promos then anyone will agree Trailers were much better with Sharanya showed as new age girl and I don't have problem with Sharanya falling for vyom what I am saying is they failed in supernatural element ghost is non relatable and that instead of showing ghost mess they should've shown show from Sharanya past that perfect love story that seemed more beautiful than this mess
