Deepika Padukone is under serious threats
over her portrayal as Rani Padmini in Sanjay
Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. The actress had
been threatened to have her nose cut off for
the bounty of Rs. 5 crore.
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi has started a
petition of Deepika Bachao. An insider
revealed to a leading daily, "Everyone has
been approached. We are awaiting the
signatures of A-listers like Kangana Ranaut,
Katrina Kaif, and two more actresses. Once
they sign, we will be taking the matter
forward.''
However, there were rumours going rife
that Kangana Ranaut refused to sign Azmi's
petition, which came as a shock to many.
Kangana has now come out and cleared
her stand. The very vocal and outspoken
actress made it clear that she has no qualms
with Deepika. Her issue, however, is with
Shabana Azmi who is spearheading this
particular petition.
"I was filming Manikarnika in Jodhpur when
I got a call from dear friend Anushka Sharma
to sign the petition written by Ms. Shabana
Azmi. I explained to her that Deepika
Padukone has all my support but I am a bit
wary of Shabana Azmi's investment in left-
wing Vs right-wing politics. I have my own
set of ideas and opinions about the current
situation in our country. I am on the fence
about many things and being a part of a
feminist movement called
Deepika Bachao led by someone
who character assassinated me when I was
bullied by influential men, seems to be one
of them. Anushka understood but I am glad
they reached out to me like I said Deepika
has all my support I am an individual
perfectly capable of supporting who I like
without anyone's support."

What did Shabana did with kang? I'm confused. But Whatever. Like PV does not release, hope DP signs light hearted movies with other directors and stay away from SLB for at least few years

Privately who knows? The only open support I have seen Shabana Azmi give to Hrithik was a tweet praising his second statement (the one saying don't take sides, let the evidence speak and the police investigate). She tweeted : Spoken like the true gentleman that you are ! Bless you dearest Hrithik and rest assured truth will prevail. Lots of love.

I said this in another post and I will say this here: a silly petition signed by BW actresses means absolutely nothing. I dont even know why they signed this. The problem is the public. If you want to truly appeal to people who will watch this movie, than appeal to the masses, your fans etc.

This petition just sounds utterly bizzare and stupid. DP already has protection in regards to the threats made against her so what exactly are these actresses signing for? I find this just so utterly ridiculous. What exactly are they rallying for by sending this petition to the govt?

Note: I apologize if this is rude- but if someone can answer what purpose this petition is supposed to serve beyond getting DP protection against threas [which the polie have already given her] than please, do tell me.

Whoever supported Hrithik in the controversy are wrong as per this liar delusional woman. Whole industry now knows what liar losres these Ranaut sisters are. Nobody needs her support anyway.
