It lacked all the elements that prequel had. I think main problem was fault of the script and character development. Audience rejected the love triangle which look boring and predictable and it wasn't really necessary. Akshay Kumar is a good actor but I felt that he was trying too hard. There's got to be an art for playing gangster roles which people like Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Nana Patekar & ect have done.

Ajay did not have the conventional look when he entered. Anil Kapoor and Sridevi were big stars then. Anyone would have placed their bet on Lamhe. Possibly who knows but I think he was being arrogant. Before Lamhe, he was jealous of Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt. He had a fight with Sunny Deol during the mahurat shot in 1983 when Joshilaay was announced and another fight occured during the shooting of their film Inteqaam.

Ajay Devgan wasn't the only newcomer as he had a problem with SRK during the shooting of Trimurti. He only got that role because Sunny Deol didn't have dates whilst Sanjay went to jail that time.

I respect him as an actor but I think he's was self-obsessed and would claim that he was the best.

Congrats ajay, one of my most favourite actor 👏 I loved him the most in pyaar to hona hi tha, hddcs, diljale, omkara, the legend of bhagat singh, golmaal series, drishyam etc.

Dharmendra presenting Ajay the Best Male Debut at Filmfare Award in 1992. It's such pity that I can't find this video but this is a moment right there. I don't think any other actor has received Best Male Award from a legend like Dharmendra.

Ajay Devgan & Divya Bharti during the shooting of Vijaypath. She signed the movie in 1993 and did a few photoshoots until that terrible tradegy happen.

These two would have made a good pair. It could have been Divya in Tabu shoes doing the Ruk Ruk song.
