I love how yesterday we saw different dimensions in Diya and Ratan's characterisations.
For Diya, she was always portrayed as this serious and stoic figure. Yesterday, we saw a more vulnerable side of her. Diya is a person who always hides her vulnerabilities and emotions, perhaps as a survival mechanism in the palace. Yesterday, we got to see a different side of her- as a mere mortal who feels pain and needs a companion to help relieve her pain. It's so sad to see that her family is not there to support and comfort her, especially when she's burdened by her duties

As for Ratan, from the promos, it seemed as though he was going to be portrayed as a spoilt, irresponsible brat. But yesterday just proved the fact that he's a caring person who can see Diya's pain and wants to help relieve it. He can perceive her pain and understand what sacrifices she's made, despite not seeing her for 12 years. Contrast that with his family's response, despite them seeing the sacrifices she's made for 12 years.

Day by day, I'm loving the growth in Dira's relationship. The subtleties, understanding and mutual respect in their relationship is something that I adore. 😊
